Wyomissing wins record 31st straight regular season game

Wyomissing became the first in Berks high school football history to reach 31 consecutiv­e regular season victories, as the Spartans downed Donegal 41-7 on the road Friday night in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 matchup. Wilson previously held the record, which stood at 30 straight wins.

Drew Eisenhower and Charlie McIntyre each scored two touchdowns to lead Wyomissing to its record-breaking victory. Eisenhower opened the scoring on a 48-yard touchdown run and later caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterbac­k Ben Zechman.

McIntyre scored on runs of 38 and 25 yards. Late in the game, Matthew Kramer scored a 9-yard touchdown run and Chase Eisenhower joined his brother on the score sheet by scoring a 3-yard touchdown run.

The Spartans (3-0, 6-0) rushed for a total of 384 yards on 43 carries and limited Donegal (0-3, 1-5) to 125 yards of total offense.

SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 38, NORTHERN LEBANON 12

The Panthers overcame a 12-10 halftime deficit by scoring 28 unanswered points to defeat Northern Lebanon 38-12 on the road Friday in a LancasterL­ebanon League Section 5 matchup.

Dominic Giuffre and Cooper Hohenadel each scored two touchdowns to lead Schuylkill Valley to its fourth straight win.

Giuffre rushed for a team-high 144 yards and two touchdowns, while Hohenadel rushed for 44 yards, the two scores and also caught one pass for 34 yards.

Giuffre opened the scoring with a 46-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and Noah Wamsher kicked a 15-yard field goal to give the Panthers (3-0, 4-2) a 10-0 lead after one quarter.

Two passing touchdowns and two failed extra points gave the Vikings (1-2, 2-4) a 12-10 lead at the half.

Giuffre scored a 43-yard rushing touchdown to open the second half scoring for Schuylkill Valley. A missed extra point kept the game at 16-12

Schuylkill Valley added 22 points in the fourth quarter.

Hohenadel scored his first rushing touchdown of the night from 14 yards out and his second from four yards out. Schuylkill Valley quarterbac­k Logan Nawrocki ran in a twopoint conversion after Hohenadel’s first touchdown.

Nawrocki threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Lucas Spotts to round out the scoring in the fourth quarter and finished 4-of-5 passing with 98 yards and the touchdown. Spotts had a team-high 55 receiving yards on two catches.

The Panthers recorded 243 rushing yards and 133 passing yards while out-gaining Northern Lebanon 376-284.

Colby Crills and Logan Cammauf each had an intercepti­on for Schuylkill Valley.

ELIZABETHT­OWN 26, DANIEL BOOONE 13

The Blazers (0-3, 1-5) fell to the Bears (2-0, 6-0) in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 contest on Friday. Anthony High opened the scoring for Daniel Boone by catching a 14-yard touchdown pass thrown by quarterbac­k Dean Rotter. The ensuing point after attempt was blocked.

Elizabetht­own responded by scoring two unanswered touchdowns on passes from quarterbac­k Josh Rudy. Rudy had a game-high four touchdown passes.

A 4-yard touchdown run by Rotter tied the game for Daniel Boone at 13-13 as the Bears missed the extra point on their second touchdown.

Cade Capello caught two touchdown passes from Rudy to extend Elizabetht­own’s lead and the Blazers were shut out in the second half. The Bears missed the extra point on their last touchdown to close the game at 26-13.

The Blazers recorded 170 total yards (73 rushing, 97 passing) and Rotter was 4-of-11 passing along with his two scores.

ANNVILLE-CLEONA 42, KUTZTOWN 28

The Cougars (0-3, 1-5) scored four touchdowns but the Dutchmen (2-1, 4-2) outscored Kutztown 21-7 to secure the victory after the teams were tied 21-21 at halftime.

The Lancaster-Lebanon Section 5 matchup saw Brenden Ackley score a 70-yard rushing touchdown and a 3-yard rushing touchdown as he compiled a game-high 218 rushing yards for the Cougars. Jacob Lafferty and Dakaota Thomas each scored a 3-yard rushing touchdown to round out the scoring for Kutztown. The Cougars compiled 388 rushing yards on 55 carries and had 49 passing yards.

CEDAR CREST 39, READING HIGH 0

The Falcons (1-2, 3-3) shut out the Red Knights (0-3, 2-4) as Cedar Crest’s Aiden Schomp caught two receiving touchdowns to lead Cedar Crest over Reading High.

The Red Knights compiled 93 yards of total offense (85 rushing, 8 passing) in the LancasterL­ebanon League Section 1 contest. Reading High gave up two safeties.

MANHEIM CENTRAL 70, MUHLENBERG 0

The Barons (2-0, 6-0) scored 10 touchdowns against the Muhls (1-2, 2-4) in a LancasterL­ebanon League Section 2 game at Manheim Central Friday. Jayden Capellan had a teamhigh 55 receiving yards and Ulices Ramirez had a team-high 40 rushing yards for Muhlenberg.

The Muhls recorded 114 yards of total offense (72 passing, 42 rushing) and quarterbac­k Drew Fidler was 4-of-7 passing with 40 yards.
