Nominations for the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance’s annual Business Excellence Awards are being accepted through Friday, March 15.

The Greater Reading Business Excellence Awards are presented by the chamber alliance and KPMG LLP and recognize the area’s “most dynamic for-profit businesses and their contributions to the success of the entire community,” according to information on the award website.

The 2024 Business Excellence Awards will once again feature two categories separating businesses by annual revenue. Category 1 represents businesses with $1 million in annual revenue for the past three years; while Category 2 is reserved for businesses with at least $250,000 in annual revenue for the past three years.

Companies can be nominated or can nominate themselves for the award.

The nominated companies will be ranked according to their annual revenue growth, according to the program description. Both dollar and percentage increases will be taken into consideration. This ranking is intended to recognize both large and small companies that have a positive influence on the future of the region.

To be eligible, companies must:

• Be a for-profit, public or privately-held company

• Be headquartered in Berks County or demonstrate that 50% of company revenue comes from Berks County. The awards program was expanded in 2022 to include businesses outside of Berks.

• Have annual revenues of at least $1 million (Category 1) or $250K+ (Category 2) in each of the three most recent fiscal years

• Be a Greater Reading Chamber Alliance member

• Submit supporting documentation for revenues with nomination form.

Nomination forms for qualifying companies can be found by visiting greaterreading.org/ annualbusinessawards. The nomination forms should then be forwarded to KPMG LLP, which will handle tabulating the rankings. For each award, nominated businesses are ranked according to revenue growth.

All nomination forms are due by March 10. Late submissions will not be accepted.

All Business Excellence Award winners will be recognized at the GRCA’s Annual Dinner in May, via a video montage tribute to all the nominees and special recognition to the Top 3 in each category. The date of the dinner and awards presentation has not been finalized, according to the chamber. More information about the dinner, its keynote speaker and how to purchase tickets will be available soon at greaterreading.org for the latest updates.

Last year’s Business Excellence Awards included a total of 50 companies in the first category and 10 companies in the second category. UGI Energy Services LLC took the top spot in the category for companies with revenues in excess of $1 million; while Pennsylvania Anesthesia Coalition LLC took the top spot in the category for companies with revenues of more than $250,000.

There were more than 70 nominations for the Business Excellence Awards last year, according to Leah Fassnacht, GRCA spokeswoman, who added that at least 12 of the nominees were new to the awards program last year.
