Coming up on an exit

-

We are on the highway to bigger government. It is leading us to fewer freedoms, higher prices, less personal decision-making and higher taxes from fewer workers.

We are coming up on the last exit that will take us back to the America that most generations knew as kids. That was the America where freedoms abounded, government was unheard of and everyone made their way on their own merits.

We can stay on the highway to bigger government by choosing the incumbent in November that will ensure that we come under a tighter noose from federalism. The alternative is to take the last exit. Therein lies the problem. Four candidates are vying to be the alternative to the highway choice.

One is preferred by the so-called establishment, that group of party elites that believe that they know best. Their choice is the least Republican of the bunch. His claim to fame is the establishment of government control of Massachusetts residents’ health care. Regardless of how anyone looks at it, it is pro-government and anti-american if you consider the America of our childhood.

Our choices are clear to all true Americans. We must choose the exit, but we also must choose that candidate who has done the most for America. The one that helped balance the budget and rose from congressman to speaker of the House. BARRETT METZLER
