Tritt to play in El Dorado; Robots zero in on Fort Smith
Country star Travis Tritt will headline “An Evening With Travis Tritt” at 7: 30 p.m. Wednesday at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. Eighth St., El Dorado. Tritt’s hits include “Help Me Hold On,” “Can I Trust You With My Heart” and “Foolish Pride.”

Fort Smith show
Eureka Springs ’80s-influenced, electro-rock/dancerock band Fossils of Ancient Robots will play at 10 p.m. Saturday at Rooster’s on the Avenue, 801 Garrison Ave., Fort Smith. Cover charge for the three-hour concert and light show is $5. Call (479) 783-2625.
ASO at ASU
The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro.
The orchestra’s principal cellist, David Gerstein, will be the soloist in the Variations on a Rococo Theme by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. Principal tuba Ed Owen, also a member of the ASU music faculty, will solo in the Tuba Concerto in f minor by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The program will also include the Overture to The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini and the Firebird Suite (1919 version) by Igor Stravinsky. Philip Mann will conduct.
The concert is part of the Fowler Center’s Riceland Distinguished Performance Series; the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce is the sponsor. Tickets are $30 and $20, $23 and $15 for senior citizens and students, with discounts for ASU students, faculty and staff. Bluegrass Monday
Minnesota-based bluegrass band Monroe Crossing — Lisa Fuglie, fiddle and vocals; Matt Thompson, mandolin and fiddle; Mark Anderson, bass; Derek Johnson, vocals and guitar; and David Robinson, banjo — will perform at 7 p.m. Monday at the Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., downtown Paragould, part of Jonesboro public radio station KASU-FM, 91.9’s monthly Bluegrass Monday concert series. Folk Center tryouts
The Ozark Folk Center will hold open auditions for new performers for the state park’s 2013 music season at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26-27 in the White Oak Auditorium in administration building at the park in Mountain View.
All local and regional musicians “well versed” in performing traditional acoustic Ozark style music are invited to audition ( no electrified instruments, please) for daytime and evening performances. Prepare three songs and bring a list of at least 10 other tunes in a current set list. Groups should have all members present.
