BERRYVILLE — Helen Irene Hull Maples spirit was freed of earthly cares Sept. 1, 2013, to join her beloved husband, Gene Price Maples; her dear parents, Parley and Charlotte Powers (Barth) Hull; her brother, J.A. Hull; an infant brother; and infant sister, Elizabeth, all of whom preceded her.

Born May 24, 1925, at home, Helen spent almost all of her life in and around Berryville, graduating from Berryville High School in 1942. She worked at Beck’s 5 and 10 (cent) store before taking the position of clerk for the Berryville Water and Sewer Department and becoming City Treasure of Berryville. Helen retired after 42 years as City Treasure in 1991. She was a member of the Municipal League, American Legion Auxiliary, Berryville High School Alumni Associatio­n, and Valley View Baptist Church.

On Feb. 4, 1950, Helen was united in marriage with Gene Price Maples. Family and friends were most important to Helen and Gene. They enjoyed traveling and photograph­ing the people and places visited leaving behind a large library of photo memories to the close family surviving them including nieces, Patricia Hull Pennington (Joe S.) of Jacksonvil­le, Ark.; Cynthia Hull Rose Ware of Springfiel­d, Mo.; grand-nephews, Stacy Scott Pennington (Dr. Katherine Lambert) of Memphis, Tenn.; Dr. Jaymie Hull Pennington (April) of Little Rock, Ark.; grand-nieces, Tamara Rose Isreal Nunley (Jay) of Davis, Okla.; Amber Rose Kisting (Thomas) of Springfiel­d, Mo.; great-grand-nephews and nieces Jacob, Ethan and Hayley Pennington of Little Rock, Ark.; Miranda and Lauryn Kisting of Springfiel­d, Mo.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Reverend David Kline and Sam Dunham officiatin­g. Interment will follow the service in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. NEW ORLEANS, La. — Sherry Ann Crawford, 43, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5 in New Orleans, La. She was the daughter of the late Alvin Crawford of Little Rock, Ark.; late stepfather, Paul Jenkins and Phyllis Ballard Jenkins of Birmingham, Ala. Grandparen­ts are Clayton and Eralee Crawford, Marshall and Melissa Ballard. She is survived by her mother, Phyllis; stepsister, Carol Jenkins Abdelhalim; stepbrothe­rs, Paul Scott Jenkins and Mark Todd Jenkins.

Born Aug. 26, 1970, Sherry spent her childhood in Little Rock, Ark., later moved to Baton Rouge, La. She graduated from J.A. Fair High School in 1988. She also graduated from Campbell University in Raleigh, N.C., where she was on the Dean’s list.

Sherry loved reading, sports, skydiving and most of all the various running groups. She worked several charity functions with the running groups to raise funds for many organizati­ons.

Sherry leaves behind family members and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 10 at the Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksvill­e, Ark. Burial at Hartman Cemetery. Rev. Reginald Willcutt officiatin­g.
