Bentonville Police
Department
The Bentonville Police Department was awarded a grant from the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District in the amount of $6,000 for the purchase of a Rescue Phone for use by the Negotiations Team. The check was presented to Bentonville Police Department Negotiation Team members Sgt. Tina Lorence and Cpl. Steve Vera on Dec. 5 by State Representative Jim Dotson.
Habitat For Humanity
The Habitat for Humanity of Washington County was the recent recipient of a $1,000 donation from Prairie Grove Lions Club 3693. Lions Club President Mark Engle made the presentation to Habitat Executive Director Jason Kindall and Patrick Moore, Prairie Grove project volunteer. The funds are marked for the building of a home in Prairie Grove. The land has been purchased and $4,000 has been collected for this home with the same dollar value in promised materials and labor. Boys & Girls Club
Grand Savings Bank donated $500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County for winning its holiday Facebook contest. The contest was held to give back to a Benton County nonprofit that gives of time and resources to better the community. The Boys & Girls Club won by receiving the most nominations and votes on the Grand Savings Bank Facebook page. The money will be used to fund their health, education, life skills and family support programs.
