Ole Miss is trying to build off the momentum gained from a 43-37 victory over Alabama last weekend in Tuscaloosa. Vanderbilt could use a huge upset to prove that second-year coach Derek Mason has the Commodores pointed in the right direction.

Ole Miss passing game vs. Vanderbilt’s secondary: Ole Miss has had off-the- charts offensive production this season, scoring 64 points per game. The Rebels’ running game is improved, but it’s the passing attack, led by QB Chad Kelly and receivers Laquon Treadwell, Quincy Adeboyejo and Cody Core, that has been the team’s huge advantage. Vanderbilt is giving up just 153.3 passing yards per game, which ranks second in the SEC.

Players to watch

Vanderbilt: QB Johnny McCrary. McCray was very good last week against Austin Peay, setting a school passing accuracy mark by completing 28 of 33 passes (84.7 percent) for 368 yards and two touchdowns.

Ole Miss: DL Robert Nkemdiche. The 296-pound junior had the best game of his career against Alabama last week, with 2½ tackles for a loss.
