South on Main opens stage to Meshugga Klezmer Band

The Meshugga Klezmer Band will liven up the middle of the week with its repertoire of European Jewish melodies, 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at South on Main, 1304 S. Main St., Little Rock. Bluegrass Monday

Knoxville, Tenn.-based Kip and Jerry’s Rocky Road Show will offer an evening of bluegrass, 7 p.m. Monday at Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., Paragould, part of Jonesboro public radio station KASU-FM, 91.9’s Bluegrass Monday series. Modern comedy

Two women — one who, after graduate school built a career as a rock-star academic, and the other a wife and mother — begin a dangerous game as each tries to claim the other’s territory in the modern comedy Rapture, Blister, Burn by Gina Gionfriddo, a production of which Fayettevil­le theater company TheatreSqu­ared will open on Thursday at Walton Arts Center’s Nadine Baum Studios, 505 W. Center St., Fayettevil­le. Curtain times: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through April 24. VoiceJam finals

Contempora­ry a cappella ensembles from Taiwan; Philadelph­ia; Boston; Cincinnati; DeKalb, Ill.; Tallahasse­e, Fla.; Atkinson, Wis.; Brookline, Mass.; Eugene, Ore.; and Waco, Texas; will compete in the second annual VoiceJam, Friday-Saturday at Fayettevil­le’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St.

The Swingles (formerly the Swingle Singers) will headline the VoiceJam Profession­al Showcase, 8 p.m. Friday; tickets are $10, plus applicable fees. Deke Sharon hosts the VoiceJam Competitio­n, 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15-$25.

A two-day VoiceJam Festival Pass, which offers access to all events, including performanc­es, competitio­n and workshops, plus a VoiceJam goody bag, are $60. The VoiceJam Workshop and Class Pass, which includes access to all workshops and master classes, is $25.

Quintette concert

The Lyrique Quintette — Ronda Mains, flute; Theresa Delaplain, oboe; Nophachai Cholthitch­anta, clarinet; Lia Uribe, bassoon; and Timothy Thompson, French horn,; all faculty members at the University of Arkansas — will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, Fine Arts Building, University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le. Album debut

Stops Along the Way, the new album by local singer/ songwriter Charlie Crow, will debut at 7 p.m. Monday at Khalil’s Pub & Grill, 110 S. Shacklefor­d Road, Little Rock. Crow will perform “songs of loving, losing, longing and leaving” from the album. Rodger King is scheduled as the opening act.
