ALMA — Wesley Lee Warnock, 82, of Alma, Ark., went to be with his precious Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 13, 1934, in Picher, Okla., to the late Mirl and Lillie Warnock.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Warnock and his brother George.

He is survived by his five children; Jan Bowlin and husband Mark of Orlando, Fla., Clay Warnock and wife Becky of Alma, Ark., Clif Warnock and wife Jayne of Fort Smith, Ark., Monica Rhoades and husband Shane of Springdale, Ark., Cilinda Giezentann­er and husband Greg of Fayettevil­le, Ark., one sister Elizabeth McMahen and husband James of Alma, Ark., 17 grandchild­ren, 15 great-grandchild­ren, and one great-great grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Wesley loved his hometown of Alma. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and faithfully led the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class for many years. He also served on the Alma Public School Board.

Wesley had a passion for serving others and was heavily involved in numerous church ministries. He was always looking to help those in need, whether a part of his church family or elsewhere. Wesley especially enjoyed visiting people in nursing homes and hospitals and helping with Christmas Food Drives.

Profession­ally, Wesley was known statewide as a real estate broker and developer. He owned and operated Arkansas Land Agency for several decades. He was appointed multiple terms to the Arkansas Real Estate Commission, where he also served as chairman for a term.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Alma with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.

Pallbearer­s will be his grandsons, Chris Warnock, Joshua Warnock, Dustin Bowlin, Brent Rhoades, Colby Rhoades and Andrew Giezentann­er. Honorary pallbearer­s are the men of his Sunday School Class.

The family will visit with friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

BELLA VISTA — John Dale Judd, 62, passed away on Sept. 1, 2016, in Bella Vista. He was born on June 30, 1954, in Schweinfur­t, Germany. He was raised by his loving parents, Roland D. and Effie M. (Norvell) Judd.

He was the husband of Polly (Olsen) Judd.

John worked at J.B. Hunt Transport for over 20 years in the customer service department.

He was a funny guy who was loved by everyone he met. He was always ready to help in whatever way he could. John enjoyed traveling with his family and has visited all the popular National Parks. He was an avid fan of the Beatles, which was the official music choice on all vacations. He was the favorite uncle and was dubbed a “second parent”.

He was always ready to go out to eat, especially to a sushi restaurant, but would readily help with cleaning the kitchen when they ate at home. He was a skillful storytelle­r and talented singer.

He was a great son and amazing husband. He will be missed by all.

John is survived by his wife, Polly of Bella Vista; mother, Effie Judd of Bella Vista; uncle, Jimmie Dale Norvell of Oklahoma; brother, Bruce A. Judd of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Joanne Olsen of Iowa; nephew, Jeremy Christians of Bentonvill­e; nieces, Jenna Christians of Bentonvill­e and Jacey Sakoff and Bret and their children, Madison, Emily and Jake all of Mo.; brothers-in-law, Steve Christians and Rebecca of Bentonvill­e, Todd Olsen and Sandy of Texas and Rich Olsen and Susan of Iowa; sister-in-law, Janet Meyne and Wayne of Iowa; nieces, April Hicks, Abby Olsen, and Tessa Depker; nephews, Luke and Nick Meyne and Jason Olsen and Jonathon Judd; and many great-nephews and nieces.

BENTONVILL­E — Rex Lanier Grimsley, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., passed away on Aug. 31, 2016, in a plane crash at the Bentonvill­e Municipal Airport.

He was a committed husband, loving father and grandfathe­r, and Christian. He will be greatly missed by his devoted family, Carolyn Boling Grimsley, his wife of 49 years; son, James Paul Grimsley of Bentonvill­e and his fiancee, Heather Holland; daughter, Jill Grimsley Drewyor of Bentonvill­e and her husband Pine Drewyor; also by his grandchild­ren, Harper Grimsley (19), a student at the University of Arkansas, Macy Grimsley (18), a student at Texas Christian University, and Margot Drewyor (10), Beatrix Drewyor (6), and James Truman Drewyor (4) of Bentonvill­e.

A cattle broker, avid quail hunter, and pilot, Grimsley was a lifelong resident of Vaughn, just west of Bentonvill­e. He frequently made trips to Texas in his Beechcraft Bonanza to entertain family and friends on bird hunting trips.

He spent the evening preceding his death with his family celebratin­g his grandson’s birthday. He died the following morning piloting his aircraft after evading an incoming aircraft at the local airport.

The older of two children, Grimsley was born in 1946 and raised in Vaughn. His parents, James Knox Grimsley and Wanda Lou Rodgers Grimsley, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Ruthann Grimsley Strickland, and her husband Steve Strickland, of Little Rock.

Grimsley graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Business degree in 1968, following which he taught distributi­ve education classes in Pine Bluff and later at Bentonvill­e High School. He later attended the U of A and obtained a Masters of Business Administra­tion. He was an ardent Razorbacks fan.

Grimsley was an entreprene­ur at heart and owned several successful businesses throughout his career, including F&G Feed Store, where he was partners first with Bob Fuqua and later with George Huber, and Brookside Seed Company and Bentonvill­e Lube ‘N Go, where he was also partners with Huber, and a prosperous cattle broker business. He was a shareholde­r and director at Grand Savings Bank.

He was a longtime cattleman, he grew up on a dairy farm in Bentonvill­e, and began running his own beef cattle in 1970. He maintained many interests in agricultur­e, primarily in the cattle market and was a fixture at several area cattle auctions. Grimsley raised commercial cattle, registered Charolais, and registered Brangus in the Bentonvill­e area and also at Arkoma Land and Cattle Company in Delaware County, Okla. He was joined in the cattle operation by his son, Paul, who will continue to carry on the family tradition.

Grimsley valued work ethic and was known for his entreprene­urship and love for deal making. He loved finance and greatly enjoyed his participat­ion with First National Bank (formerly Citizens Bank) in Bentonvill­e, and later with Grand Savings Bank. His keen mind, quick wit and love of fun made him good company. He was a well-known prankster. Grimsley was a friend to many and enjoyed entertaini­ng family and friends at his Rooster Ridge hunting lodge and had a great affection for his hunting dogs and household pets. He adored his grandchild­ren. He was a longstandi­ng church member at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He will be fondly remembered and missed dearly.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, also at the church.

BENTONVILL­E — Janet Parker, 71, of Bentonvill­e, passed away Sept. 2, 2016, in Springdale. She was born June 6, 1945, in Fayettevil­le to the late Herschel and Alta Corder Skelton. She was a school teacher.

CENTERTON — Elsie Mary Davis, 72, of Centerton, Ark., passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016. She was born March 2, 1944, in Pineville, Mo., to Jesse and Eva Pendergraf­t (nee Chrisman).

Elsie was an Administra­tive Assistant in Walmart’s Real Estate Office.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Elvin Lee (Joyce) Davis of Marshall, Texas; granddaugh­ter, Leanna Davis; grandsons, Houston Davis and Clifford Dollar; and her daughter, Dr. Kay (Jeff Hoesel) Davis of Cottlevill­e, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Nancy Gail Dollar and her beloved brothers and sisters.

Elsie loved sewing, reading and watching the Razorbacks. Time spent with family and friends was precious to her.

DECATUR — Doreen Jean Martin, 62, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, in Decatur, Ark. She was born June 17, 1954, in Watertown, N.Y., to Alonzo C. Walts Jr. and Jean Peltzer Walts.

She was raised on the Walts Family Dairy Farm in Evans Mills, N.Y., where she was taught the value of hard work and learned many life skills that made her a wonderful wife and mother.

Everyone that met Doreen and her husband, Robert, knew that their lives were guided by the Spirits of their Ancestral American Indian Traditions and old fashioned ways. She loved and cared for the earth, gardened and always preserved each year’s harvest.

She, together with her husband, son and daughter owned and operated Jr’s Plumbing out of Rogers, Ark.

Doreen worked at the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport for over five years making wonderful pastries and breads for the restaurant­s there. She never met a stranger, made many friends and was loved and respected by both the airport staff and the regular travelers.

Doreen is survived by her loving, faithful husband of 37 years, Robert Martin; son, Jason Martin; daughter, Shannon Dixon; three grandchild­ren; her mother-in-law, Darlene McMahon and many extended family and special friends. She will be dearly missed by them all.

A celebratio­n of Doreen’s life will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Eastside Assembly of God, 9559 Hwy 72, Bentonvill­e, Ark., 72712 with Pastor Robert Ward officiatin­g.

As Doreen would want, Robert hopes all the ladies will wear bright summer dresses and that the men will wear colorful shirts.

FARMINGTON — Carol Lee McGarity, 73, a resident of Peachtree Assisted Living in Farmington, passed away Sept. 2, 2016, in Fayettevil­le. She was born July 31, 1943, at Neosho, Mo., the daughter of Oliver and Billie Rinehart Hall.

Carol was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills. She moved from Neosho, Mo., to Harrison, Ark., and then to Dutch Mills, Ark., in 1960. She worked in Colorado Springs for Safetran building railroad signals. She then moved to California where she worked for General Dynamics building Stinger Missiles and later retired from Whirlpool in Tulsa, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene McGarity; her grandparen­ts, Henry Arthur and Lola Frailey Rinehart; her mother and father; and a half brother, Kenneth Hall.

Survivors, include her sister, Debbie Eversoll and husband Roger of Dutch Mills; two nephews, Roger Dale Eversoll of North Little Rock, and Phillip Anthony Eversoll and wife Brittany of El Paso, Ark.; one greatniece Billie May Eversoll; one step-brother, Jeffrey Hall; her step-father, Bill Barton; three step-daughters, Anne Harrah, Jane McGarity, and Jovonna Jones; two step-sons, Steven and Jeffrey McGarity; one step-grandson, Douglas Jones Jr.

The family will receive friends form 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the Luginbuel Chapel.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — John Alan Carson passed away Aug. 30, 2016, of natural causes. He was 63 years of age. He was a 33-year resident of Fayettevil­le.

John followed his father in the family business as a hairdresse­r. He was employed at Johnny Carson’s Haircare for the past 25 years.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Arleta Carson of Fayettevil­le.

He is survived by his father, Johnny Carson of Fayettevil­le and a sister, Sandra Carson of Fayettevil­le. John was the father of two daughters and a son, Shawna J. Carson-King and her husband, Hubert; Shelby L. Carson-Emerson and her husband, Robert, both from Springdale; Jay Raymond from Missoula, Mont.; and three grandchild­ren, Kennedy Olivia King of Springdale, Hailey Nicole Emerson of Springdale and Karter Wayne Kelso of Hardin, Mont.

We will continue to celebrate his life although our hearts will be heavy without his presence.

GENTRY — Thelma Louise Gallaway, 86, of Gentry, Ark., passed away Sept. 1, 2016, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Gentry, Ark., she was the daughter of Rue Lankford and Laveta (Tate) Lankford.

She and Lester “Shorty” Gallaway were married Oct. 26, 1952. Thelma was a member of Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Shorty, son Randy and granddaugh­ter Kristy.

Survivors include her son Curtis Gallaway and wife Cheryl of Combs, Ark.; daughter in law Donna Gallaway of Rogers, Ark.; six grandchild­ren, 10 great-grandchild­ren and one great-great-grandchild.

JAPTON — Loren Dean Hattabaugh, 71, of Japton passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born Jan. 21, 1945, in Fayettevil­le to Robert Lee Hattabaugh and Martha Pauline Starkey-Hattabaugh.

He was a longtime member of New Life Tabernacle Church in Baldwin. He was a great all around Musician, minister and Sunday school teacher. He loved his family, having family gatherings, fishing, hunting and canning but most of all he loved God.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles David McDaniel, and one sister, June Fields.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Margaret McDaniel-Hattabaugh; five daughters, Tammy Evans and husband Rodney of Hector, Ark., Sandra Dunham and husband Billy of Japton, Shirley Massey of Hot Springs, Belynda Bottoms and husband Larry of Farmington and Lisa McDaniel of the home; three brothers Alvin Hattabaugh and wife Maggie of Durham, Billy Hattabaugh and wife Bessie and Juan Hattabaugh and wife Rosie both of Hazel Valley; fourteen grandchild­ren; seventeen great grandchild­ren and several other family members and friends.

LINCOLN — Jacqueline “Jacqui” Ray Gonzalez, 45, Lincoln, Ark., died Sept. 2, 2016, at her home. Born March 24, 1971, in Dinuba, Calif., she was the daughter of Ray Lynn Losh and Deborah Ruth (Harrison) Losh.

Jacqui and Benito Gonzalez were married Feb. 28, 1997. She was a member of Sanctuary of Lincoln Church,

Lincoln, Ark.

Jacqui was preceded in death by parents and grandmothe­r Imogene.

ROGERS — Ronald Greeler, 82, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Aug. 31, 2016.

Ronald has been a hard-working honest person throughout his life; a wonderful role model for his family. He loved his family dearly and his family loved him. He had many friends that cherished and respected him.

Church was a very important part of his life.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years; three daughters, Bonnie (George), Dollie (Randy) and Susie; one sister, Betty Beilke; seven grandchild­ren, two great-grandchild­ren and three great-great-grandchild­ren.

ROGERS — Dennis Mark Patton, 70, passed away Sept. 2, 2016, in Rogers. He was born July 16, 1946, in Alexandria, Va., the son of Loyy Fender and Clauda Nadine Jackson Patton.

Dennis worked in computer mapping for the Benton County Assessor’s office and a former police officer from 1972-1980 for the Rogers Police Department. He served in the United States Air Force and volunteere­d at the Rogers Historical Museum.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his aunt Clara Wilson.

He is survived by his wife Debbie Gardiner Patton of the home; his brother Wayne Patton and wife Jeanette Carter of Iowa City, Iowa; two nieces Sarah and Sue Patton.

SPRINGDALE — Roy Howardson Howard, 90, of Springdale, Ark., passed away on Sept. 2, 2016, in Bella Vista, Ark. He was born Jan. 23, 1926, the son of Joseph H. and Anna Todd Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Sam Howard.

Roy was a WWII Veteran, having served in the European Theater. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

He was a retired milkman. He also worked several years with cattle and in the chicken industry.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Rush Howard; one son, Bill Howard and wife Karen of Cave Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Patty Walker and husband Alan of Jay, Okla.; a daughter-inlaw, Debi Howard of Monte Ne, Ark.; nine grandsons, two granddaugh­ters and 12 great-grandchild­ren.

SPRINGDALE — Edward Wiley Turner, 87, of Springdale, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. He was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Altus, Okla., to S.A. and Elsie Vera O’Neal Turner.

Edward lived to serve the Lord throughout his life. He was a Baptist minister and graduated from Southweste­rn Baptist Theologica­l Seminary in Fort Worth. He retired from the University of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Thelma Lee (Gibson) Turner and Tommie (Smith) Turner.

He is survived by two children, Tim Turner and wife Candy, Tammy Farriester and husband Brian all of Springdale; four grandchild­ren, Ashley Jones and husband Kerry, Tyler Turner, Sloan Farriester, Kinley Farriester; one great-grandchild, Max Edward Jones; and one brother and two sisters all of Texas.

OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn. — Barbara Jane Proesch (nee Tonskemper), 96, passed away Aug. 28, 2016, at Boutwells Landing in Oak Park Heights. Born in Duluth, Minn., in 1919, her life was shaped by the major events of the last nearly 100 years.

She attended UMD during the Great Depression and graduated from UMD with a degree in Education just prior to World War II. She then went on to teach in Watervliet, Mich.; Minneapoli­s; Stillwater; and lastly North St. Paul where she taught kindergart­en for 20 years at the Beaver Lake Elementary School.

It was in Stillwater in the immediate post WWII years that she met Lawrence (Buddo) Proesch. They married in 1950, proceeded to have two children and continued to live on the North Hill of Stillwater until 1983. They moved to Rogers, Ark., where she was active in her church and PEO until her husband’s death in 2011. Shortly thereafter, Barbara moved back to Minnesota to be closer to her children.

Barbara touched many lives through her teaching, church involvemen­t, and community involvemen­t. She will be remembered for her fiery spirit and love of others.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence of 51 years; her brother, James Tonskemper; her sister, Helen Ragen; and her sonin-law, Larry Schwarzkop­f. She is survived by daughter, Gretchen Proesch; son, Bill (Betty) Proesch; and grandchild­ren, Erik Schwarzkop­f, Ellen Proesch, and Claire Proesch. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S. 3rd St., Stillwater, Minn., with a visitation one hour prior in the church atrium. Private family interment.

HOUSTON, Texas — Jessica ‘Jess’ Jones Goff of Houston, Texas and Little Rock, Ark., went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 ,at the age of 19.

Jessica’s spirit will carry on through her devoted parents, Jena Jones of Houston, Texas, and Little Rock, Ark., and Tim and Cathy Goff of Houston, Texas. Jess is also survived by her sisters, Casey and Tyler Goff, both of Houston, Texas, and her grandparen­ts, Dr. O.E. ‘Poppa Wee’ and Patricia ‘Ppat’ Jones of Batesville, Ark., and the late L.J. ‘Papa’ Goff and Jean ‘Granny’ Goff of Harrison, Ark. She is also lovingly remembered by dozens of cousins, aunts and uncles, and bountiful friends.

Jessica shed light and joy on all she encountere­d. You could always count on her to give you the straight truth. She was wise beyond her years. Despite her decade-long battle with neuroblast­oma cancer, Jess continuous­ly found reason to smile. She shared that smile with those around her.

She loved to dance, sing and play soccer. She was the coloring queen! Jess was very involved in her church youth group at St. John the Divine Episcopal church, and she absolutely loved Camp Mystic summer camp in Hunt, Texas. She made a myriad of wonderful friends there and always looked forward to going. Jess attended The Post Oak Montessori school for many years. She went on to attend high school at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Ark.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Go Gold Fund (https:// gogold.networkfor­good.com/), an organizati­on that brings about greater awareness of childhood cancer, or to Small Steps Nurturing Center (https://www.ssnc.org/), a non-profit Christian preschool that provides early childhood education and spiritual growth to economical­ly at-risk children in Houston.
