Incontinence and Osteoporosis Center’s Dr. Chris Roberts

Dr. Chris Roberts is a board certified urogynecologist that treats urinary incontinence in both men and women and is President of the Incontinence and Osteoporosis Center in Galena, Kan.

A second-generation physician, Dr. Roberts followed in his father’s footsteps by graduating with honors from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1991. Like his father, who practiced with him for five years before retiring in 2000, Dr. Roberts always had an interest in becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist.

In 2012, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology created a subspecialty in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Roberts is now the region’s only board certified specialist in this area and has recently expanded his practice to also treat men with these conditions, addressing health issues with a proactive and anti-aging approach.

Now with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Roberts is currently completing a fellowship in functional metabolic medicine. This addresses common medical problems in women with traditional and herbal medications to treat these conditions.

“I am expanding my use of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to treat both men and women with hormonal issues, including menopausal symptoms and low libido,” Roberts said.

“My newest push is in the use of Thermiva for women and Thermismooth for men and women. Thermiva can be used in women for urinary incontinence, mild prolapse, vaginal tightening and improved sexual response. Thermismooth is used to tighten skin on the face or other sites with a non-laser treatment that restores the normal collagen in the skin to help resolve wrinkles and contract excess skin. These changes in my practice are very exciting, and I hope that I will be able to address some of these complaints with people in the northwest Arkansas corridor,” he said.
