Greenwood 38, Russellvil­le 13

Class 6A’s top ranked team had no problems on the road Friday night, rolling to a big win over defending state champion Russellvil­le.

The Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 6A-West) led 28-7 at halftime as Kenny Wood and Connor Noland had first half rushing touchdowns. Noland had a pair of touchdown passes in the win.

Alma 48, Clarksvill­e 35

In a back-and-forth game, Alma’s defense came up big at the end as Garrison Jensen returned an intercepti­on the length of the field to help the Airedales hold off Clarksvill­e in 5A-West action.

Clarksvill­e was driving to tie or take the lead late with Alma leading 42-35 when Jensen made the defensive play of the game.

Danville 28, Hackett 6

DANVILLE — Eli Lane ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns and Quentin Tolbert added another to lead Danville (7-1, 6-0 4-2A) over Hackett (4-2, 3-2).

Danville led 7-6 at halftime after Preston Donnell threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Evan Lane, Eli Lane’s twin brother. Hackett picked up a touchdown on a pass from Brady Hester to Malachi Crone.

Greenbrier 33, Harrison 16

HARRISON — Seth Howard returned an intercepti­on 50 yards for a touchdown just before halftime, then ran 51 yards for another score in the game’s final seven minutes as Greenbrier (4-3, 3-1 5A-West) defeated Harrison (5-2, 3-1).

Howard led the Panthers with 100 yards on 6 carries.

Andrew Johnson started the scoring for Greenbrier with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Grant Brown in the first quarter and Ethan Hall added a 40-yard goal to give the Panthers a 16-0 halftime advantage.

Hall kicked another field goal in the third quarter and Johnson, who passed 19 of 25 for 162 yards, found Sacari Reese with a 17-yard touchdown pass in the fourth.

Atkins 35, Cedarville 16

ATKINS — Gage Rehm ran for all five Atkins (6-1, 4-0 4-3A) touchdowns in a victory over Cedarville (2-5, 1-3).

Rehm finished with 144 yards on 19 carries and did his part for the Red Devil defense, too, piling up 16 tackles. He put Atkins ahead 12-8 at the half with touchdown runs of 8 and 9 yards, then added a 10-yard score in the third and two more touchdown runs of 33 and 2 yards.

Gravette 37, Berryville 30

Austin O’Brien scored five rushing touchdowns to help the Lions climb back to .500 in the 4A-1 Conference.

The Lions (3-4, 2-2) and got a 32yard field goal from Chris Childress in the win.

Gravette will travel to Huntsville next week.

Lincoln 35, Huntsville 28

LINCOLN — A dropped pass inside the Lincoln 10-yard line, followed by an incompleti­on on fourth down sealed Lincoln’s win over Huntsville.

The win at Wolfpack Stadium was critical to keep playoff hopes alive for Lincoln (3-4, 2-2 4A-1).

“We had to win tonight,” said Lincoln coach Don Harrison. “We knew how important of a game it was. The kids fought the whole way.”

Huntsville (1-6, 0-4) roared back from a 27-13 third quarter deficit to take a 2827 lead on pair of Sean McCone touchdown passes to Zack Elsey. The Eagles’ quarterbac­k to wide receiver combinatio­n hooked up on scoring plays of 68 and 74 yards during a span of 2:28 to move in front with 9:35 left in the fourth quarter.

McCone had a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to keep Huntsville within 21-13 at halftime.
