The Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts the Ladies Birthday Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

On Sunday, and the fourth Sunday of every month, the church collects food for Helping Hands food pantry in Bentonvill­e. Canned fruit and sweet potatoes are requested, but other food items and monetary donations also are appreciate­d. The church also collects sweaters and sweatshirt­s of all sizes, given to men, women and children through the Salvation Army.

First Presbyteri­an Church in Bentonvill­e,

901 N.E. J St., presents the Clabaugh Lectures to commemorat­e the 500th anniversar­y of the Protestant Reformatio­n. David Jensen of Austin (Texas) Presbyteri­an Theologica­l Seminary, will present two lectures. He will speak on “Why the Past Matters” at 5 p.m. Sunday and “Why the Future Matters” at 7 p.m. Monday.

The church celebrates the anniversar­y with a Reformatio­n hymn festival at 4 p.m. Oct. 29, featuring a 55-member choir from various Presbyteri­an churches in the area, a 14-piece brass ensemble, the church hand bell choir and the bagpipe band from Lyon College in Batesville.

First Presbyteri­an Church in Rogers, 1901 S. 26th St., hosts the Leslie Shupe Art School at 10 a.m. each Saturday, today through Nov. 4. Classes for children ages 7 to 12 meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Adult classes meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The school will include classes in acrylics, taught by Joe Lay; watercolor, by Anita Carroll; oil by Debi Ortega; and drawing and pastels by Cindy Shepherd. Cost is $20 for all six sessions, plus supplies.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., celebrates the anniversar­y of the Reformatio­n with one service at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29. An Octoberfes­t luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall after the service.

The church offers a contempora­ry service with a light supper, called the “Saturday Ignite,” at 5 p.m. Saturday, beginning Nov. 4.

The Shepherd’s Food Pantry volunteers distribute food from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. Suggested donations include items to be given for Thanksgivi­ng: mashed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, canned pure pumpkin, canned evaporated milk, canned cranberry sauce, canned green beans and cream of mushroom soup. Monetary donations also are welcome.
