PREP SOCCER Girls Bentonvill­e West 6, Van Buren 0

Alissa Carlson and Rachel Higgins each recorded a hat trick in the first half as West opened 7A-West Conference play with a win Tuesday at Van Buren.

The Lady Wolverines (3-4, 1-0) jumped out to a 4-0 lead at halftime, with Carlson and Higgins scoring two goals apiece.

West will be at home Thursday night against Fayettevil­le.

PREP SOFTBALL Elkins 5, Gentry 0

Cailey Reed pitched a three-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Lady Elks to a shutout on Tuesday.

Elkins scored two first-inning runs and that was all Reed needed to earn the win. Raegan Jude took the loss for Gentry.

Sophia Hollingswo­rth powered the Elkins offense with a home run, double and one RBI. Sarah Parrish was 2-for-3 and Lakyn Whelpey drove in a pair of runs. Mandy Barber belted a double for Gentry.

Greenwood 4, Farmington 2

The Lady Bulldogs out-dueled Farmington on Tuesday to claim a win in 5A/6A District 1 play.

Greenwood’s Makynlee Young drove in three runs to lead the offense, and Kalia Cartwright earned the win in the circle, allowing eight hits with five strikeouts.

Carley Antwine, Paige Devecsery and Paige Anderson had two hits each for the Lady Cardinals. Devecsery took the loss, allowing six hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts.

Pea Ridge 13, Gravette 12 (8)

Alevia Reyna hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Halley Laster with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Lady Blackhawks earned a walk-off win Tuesday.

Laster was placed at second base to start the eighth under the internatio­nal tie-breaking rule. Aiden Dayberry sacrificed Laster to third before Reyna drove in the game-winner in a game that saw the two teams combine for 38 hits.

Blakelee Winn and Bailey Johnson homered to lead the Pea Ridge attack. Johnson was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and Winn was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Dayberry also drove in three runs.

Keely Bulza and Sumer Kaba homered and doubled for Gravette and Bailey Elmore was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Kaba also drove in four runs. Gabbi Scott was 3-for-5.

Charleston 12, Scranton 2

Lacey McKenzie scattered six hits and struck out three to lead the Lady Tigers.

Sierra Montgomery was 2-for-4 with a two home runs and three RBIs to lead the Charleston attack. McKenzie was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and three RBIs. Sidney Tate was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Amber Fox was 2-for-3 with a double for Scranton and Kristy Kohler was 2-for-3.

Lincoln 10, Prairie Grove 2

The Lady Wolves bashed seven extra-base hits and rolled to a win Tuesday in 3A/4A District 1 action.

Tristan Cunningham was 2-for-4 with two doubles for Lincoln. Kaitlyn Lankford was 2-for-4 with a triple, and Jada Corbit and Paige Umberson also had two hits each.

Katharine McConnell and Kylie Scott were both 3-for-4 for the Lady Tigers.

Conway 12,

FS Southside 2 (5)

The Wampus Cats did all their damage in the middle innings to run-rule Fort Smith Southside in 7A-Central action Tuesday.

Conway starter James Hicks allowed two first-inning runs then settled down the rest of the way to earn the five-inning win. Hicks scattered seven hits and struck out eight. Parker Wright took the loss for Southside.

Jackson Stroth and Clay Tollett each homered for the Wampus Cats and James Martindale was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Tollett also drove in three runs.

Mac Moody hit a two-run homer for Southside, and Jake Melton was 2-for-3 with a double.

Charleston 13,

Subiaco Academy 3

The Tigers used a six-run sixth inning to earn a run-rule win Tuesday in 3A/4A District 4 action.

Charleston belted three triples and a double in the win. Kaden Benge and Brett Ward drove in three runs each for the Tigers and Dalton Curtis was 3-for-3. Lamar 7, Two Rivers 3

Three Warriors pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts Tuesday.

Ryan Dale allowed four hits over four innings to earn the win. Dale had six strikeouts. Waydan Copeland pitched three innings and struck out five.

Justin Dillard was 3-for-3 with two triples for Lamar. Zach West, Wayden Copeland and Josh Copeland each had two hits.

Prairie Grove 9, Berryville 5

The Tigers used a five-run second inning and held off Berryville in 3A/4A District 1 action.

Drew Cates was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Prairie Grove. Couper Allen and Chase Wade each had a double in the win.

Jadin Higgins earned the win, going 3.1 innings with three strikeouts. Tyler Payne took the loss for the Bobcats.

Chay Myers was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Berryville and Braden Logan also had two doubles.

Greenwood 8, Farmington 2

Blake Pschier scattered five hits and struck out seven to lead the Bulldogs to a 5A-West win.

Connor Noland was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Greenwood and Brandon Woolsey doubled and drove in two runs.

Logan Bobak took the loss for Farmington, allowing just three hits over four innings with four strikeouts. Colton Kilgore was 2-for-3 to lead the Cardinals’ offense.

Monday’s Game Shiloh Christian 14, Gravette 0

Landon Brown allowed one hit over five innings and struck out 15 as the Saints rolled to a shutout at Gravette.

The Saints bashed 14 hits including five doubles and a triple. Walker Williams was 3-for4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Michael Connolly, Connor Clark and Luke Johnson had two hits each for Shiloh Christian and Jake Nelson drove in three runs.

PREP TRACK Fayettevil­le girls win in Bryant

Fayettevil­le’s girls earned first place in five events Tuesday and took the team title during the Bryant Hornet Relays.

The Lady Bulldogs finished with 131 points in the 13-team meet, while Bryant was second with 104.

Jasmine Franklin earned wins with throws of 39 feet, 6 inches in the shot put and a state-best 131-1 in the discus, while Adriana Kitchen had a state-best leap of 38-3 to win the triple jump. Rebecca Boushelle won the 1,600 meters with her time of 5 minutes, 18.9 seconds, while Fayettevil­le’s team of Jazmyn Chenault, Damara Hale, Ashley Hall and Kitchen won the 4x100 relay in 50.92.

In the boys division, Benton used a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay to score five points and take the team title from Fayettevil­le by a slim 9897 margin.

Fayettevil­le’s only winner in the 15-team meet was Ben Young in the discus (125-0) while Ryan Roark finished second in the pole vault (13-0) and Austin Compton took second in the 300 hurdles (41.51).

COLLEGE BASEBALL Oklahoma Wesleyan 26, Ecclesia College 5

Oklahoma Wesleyan battered four Royals pitchers for a combined 22 hits in a slugfest on Tuesday at Tyson Park.

The Royals fell behind 10-0, then gave up 11 runs in the fifth inning. Oklahoma Wesleyan bashed five home runs in the rout.

Ecclesia managed just five hits. Matt Garrison and Robbie Rodriguez each had a double in the loss.
