No room for permits, rules under Second Amendment

-

Two good guys with guns shot and killed a madman who began shooting into Louie’s Bar & Grill in north Oklahoma City knowing the police response would take at least 10 minutes, during which time the crazy guy would be able to injure and kill innocent, unsuspecting diners. The law-abiding good guys, to exercise their Second Amendment rights, had to retrieve their legally owned firearms, locked in their cars.

So, why did the good guys have to go to their cars when the Constitution of the United States says they have the right “to keep and bear arms?” Answer: Oklahoma requires a license to own and carry guns. Additionally, its governor recently vetoed a constitutional carry law. Arkansas is like Oklahoma, except Oklahoma allows open carry with a permit. Arkansas has State Police regulations to adhere to if I choose to conceal carry my firearm in defense of my family, property or myself.

I have read, dozens of times, the Second Amendment and have not found that law-abiding citizens must have permits, licenses or any limitations on where they can carry their firearms for self-defense or to protect innocent lives nor does the Second Amendment say they have to keep their guns locked in their cars in certain places. It does not authorize advertising “gun-free zones.” It does not say businesses, colleges, universities, churches or governments can place restrictions on law-abiding citizens desiring to carry their guns nor does it require concealed carry. I believe gun laws and regulations violate the Constitution and are illegal.

The Second Amendment says “the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” The Fourth Amendment says “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects … shall not be violated.”

Oh, what a twisted set of gun-control politicians we live under; law upon law passed that they should know are illegal. Gun laws and regulations are illegal because they hinder our right to keep and bear arms and to be secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects, plain and simple.

The gun-control lobby does not understand plain English or just downright intentionally, illegally passed our gun laws and regulations. I expect gun-control folks will shriek, gnash teeth and call me colorful names, but I am no more irrational than the United States Supreme Court that has ruled “an unconstitutional act is not a law; it imposes no duties; it is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed. (Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S.425, 442) Not my words, but the words of those learned justices.

Why are these two good guys not hailed as heroes by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette editorial board in their thumbs up? Their names are Carlos Nazario and Bryan Whittle. They will not be prosecuted because their acts saved people’s lives and they possessed, carried, and stored their firearms legally. Is it because the anti-gun lobby dominates “Mainstream Media” that hates the NRA and law-abiding citizens with guns?
