■ Apryl Rogers, 71, said she has no hard feelings toward the black bear that mauled her after it entered her New Hampshire home through a door that was not fully latched, leaving her with cuts in her cheek and scalp, a fractured neck and the loss of her left eye.

■ Prabhu Ramamoorth­y, 35, an Indian national in the U.S. on a work visa, was convicted of sexually assaulting a Spirit Airlines passenger after the woman told authoritie­s she was startled awake and found Ramamoorth­y, who was seated next to her, with his hand down her unbuttoned pants and her shirt unbuttoned.

■ Lieven Litaer of Germany has translated the classic children’s book The Little Prince into Klingon, the fictitious language of a race of people in the science fiction franchise Star Trek, saying the book will be published in October.

■ Ezra James, 88, was charged with animal cruelty after he said he threw gasoline on a raccoon in a metal cage and lit a match, setting the animal on fire, because it had eaten his mangoes, adding that Florida police later shot the animal to ease its suffering.

■ Maria del Carmen Venegas said she drove herself to the hospital to give birth after immigratio­n agents detained her husband while the couple was stopped at a California gas station on their way to the hospital, and an immigratio­n spokesman later said her husband was wanted in Mexico on homicide charges.

■ Andrew Wright, a sheriff’s lieutenant in Summit County, Utah, said a hunter who suffered minor chest and leg injuries when he was attacked by a mountain lion declined medical attention because he wanted to continue hunting.

■ Daniel Williams, 51, and his 17-year-old daughter were arrested in Georgia after agents got a tip that the high school student and her father were dealing drugs, leading to a raid of the family’s home and storage unit where investigat­ors found 2 pounds of marijuana, 87 Ecstasy pills and $22,000.

■ Timothy Dean Pettiway was arrested on theft charges after $192,800 disappeare­d from a Montgomery, Ala., casino, and an FBI agent said surveillan­ce video showed Pettiway kneeling in front of a customer kiosk holding a money cassette. ■ Joseph Lasala, 32, who was driving under the influence of cocaine, marijuana and opiates when his car hit and killed a Kansas City, Mo., bicyclist, was sentenced to at least 120 days in prison.
