THE BEST OF BRANSON Grand Illusionist
Rick Thomas challenges audiences to dream
After seeing Rick Thomas on stage, Stacey Dotson walked out of the theatre with a look of disbelief on her face. “It was really exciting,” the 28-year-old Mobile, AL. resident said. “I’m trying to figure it out.” Stacey’s husband, Andrew, nodded in agreement. “It was not what I expected,” the 29-year-old said. “I was very entertained.” It was the young couple’s first Branson visit. “I’ve been watching magic on TV most of my life,” Stacey noted. “I’ve always been curious how people do that.”
When Rick Thomas hears comments like that, he knows he’s done his job. “I’ve been performing my entire life,”
Rick said. “When I create a new illusion, I wonder… is that going to fool the audience? Is that really going to entertain them? I design my shows not to fool anyone, but to entertain them. If they’re fooled along the way… that’s awesome.”
Entertaining has been Rick’s job for more than 35 years. Rick enjoyed long runs in numerous Vegas showrooms and has performed to crowds in 50 countries, on Broadway and at The Sydney Opera House. Rick is now honored to bring his everchanging hit show to the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center in Branson. “I love the art form and performing. I’m very proud to bring the most successful family show in Vegas history to Branson,” he said.
During Rick’s show, kids marvel at illusions, beautiful assistants hover above the stage, and motorcycles and helicopters… well, you’ll have to see it to believe it.
“The people I’m performing for are the most important people in the world to me,” he said. “They’re the same people who go to see my Vegas show. Now, I’m just bringing the show here to them in Branson. I promise the greatest magic show in the world. I promise the finest magical entertainment you will see anywhere. It just happens to be in Branson.”
