BETWEEN THE LINES West won its third straight game in convincing fashion last week, pounding Rogers High 41-14. … Har-Ber saw a two-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter evaporate in a 43-42 loss to Springdale High. … West sophomore quarterbac­k Dalton McDonald continues to improve by the week since replacing starter Will Jarrett in the season opener after Jarrett suffered an ankle injury. Against Rogers, McDonald was 16 of 24 passing for 209 yards and three touchdowns. For the season, McDonald is 77 of 136 passing for 1,078 yards and 19 touchdowns without an intercepti­on. … HarBer unveiled a new running back last week in junior Jay Burns, who not had an offensive touch this season. Burns tore through Springdale for 323 yards and four touchdowns. … West running back Tyrese Smallwood rushed for 185 yards last week and three scores, and added a fourth touchdown on a pass. For the season, Smallwood has 596 yards rushing and eight scores.
