Taking the plunge
Jordan Patrick of Bentonville (above photo) dives in Saturday during the Special Olympics Arkansas Beaver Lake Polar Plunge at Prairie Creek recreation area near Rogers. Divers measured the water temperature at 44 degrees and the air temperature in nearby Rogers rose to 30 degrees by the time participants dove in, according to the National Weather Service.
