Idea to end robocalls

-

I believe I have a reasonable solution to the disgusting number of robocalls everyone constantly gets on their cellphones. It is my understanding there is a law that any number you call, then that number has a right to call you back. Apparently, the entity setting up the various robocalls uses this quirk in the law to send unlimited spurious calls to each of our cell phones. These calls may cause us to lose important calls from our health care providers, as a number unknown to us may result in ignoring a health-related call.

This is my proposed solution. Write or call your representative and senator and ask them to introduce or support a law requiring all cellphone companies to provide the correct ID of any cellphone message sent to other cellphones. No more fake IDs. Failing to provide the correct ID of the sender must result in a heavy fine, $800 or larger for each offense. Forcing the sender to comply will encourage them to stop sending fake IDs. No more robocalls as each individual robocall sen t will result in a heavy fine to the sender.

I implore each of you who reads this message to ask all acquaintances to contact their Congress person and help bring this message against cell phone robocalls. Pass it on to stop spurious calls.
