State index climbs 4.09, hits 413.00
The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, rose 4.09 to 413.00 Monday.
“The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq limped higher on Monday in a volatile session as investors continue to watch ongoing U.S.-China trade talks, potential congressional gridlock and concerns over growth this year,” said Chris Harkins, managing director with Raymond James & Associates in Little Rock.
Total volume for the index was 17.2 million shares.
The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
