Could learn a lesson
I am a Republican and have been since 1968 when I attended a speech by Ronald Reagan. I am also a retired veteran, having served 23 years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
I would like to extend a thank you to Sen. Mark Pryor and to Congressman Vic Snyder. On numerous occasions when I wrote to them on issues that concerned me, even if I did not agree with their positions, I always received a reply from them. Generally, I received a reply within two weeks. I want to thank each of you for replying to my letters and representing me even if we did not agree on all the issues.
I recently wrote to Congressman French Hill, Sen. Tom Cotton and Sen. John Boozman on Dec. 26, 2018. I wrote concerning a veterans’ issue related to Tri-Care for Life, the health insurance a retired veteran has when he reaches age 65. I wrote concerning changes in coverage. I have not received an acknowledgement or a reply from any of my Republican representatives. I am left to assume that veterans are only important to them during election cycles, which means I should be hearing from them for campaign donations during the 2020 election cycle.
My Republican representatives could learn a lesson in professionalism and courtesy from their Democratic predecessors. J.M. WRENN Maumelle
