Robberies net 25-year prison sentence for Curry

BENTONVILLE — A Rogers man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting he robbed four stores.

Christopher Curry, 50, pleaded guilty Thursday to four counts of robbery. He was also charged as a habitual offender.

Curry was arrested Jan. 13. Police were called at 4:28 a.m. to a robbery at Casey’s General Store at 2801 S.E. J St., according to court documents.

The robber fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Bentonville police connected a silver Chrysler 300 to the crime and stopped the car on Southeast Walton Boulevard. Curry was driving and the only person in the car, according to court documents.

Police searched Curry’s home and found items connected to other robberies, according to the probable cause affidavit. Curry was questioned by police and admitted telling the clerk “this was a stickup,” according to the affidavit.

The deputy prosecutor told Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green that Curry took the money by threat of physical force.

Curry admitted to robbing and taking money from three other stores:

■ Kum & Go in Bentonville on Nov. 11, 2017

■ Dollar General in Bentonville on Nov. 12, 2017

■ E-Z Mart in Rogers on Dec. 18, 2017

Green accepted the guilty plea.

Curry was sentenced to 25 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. He must serve at least six years before he will be eligible for parole.
