BELLA VISTA — Albert

Chiaramont­i, 88, of Bella Vista, Ark., died May 17, 2019. Born June 6, 1930, in Melrose Park, Ill., to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chiaramont­i.

He is survived by three stepchildr­en, Dennis (Betsy) Zuburg, Susan Thomas and Gail (Frank) Antolec. He has three grandchild­ren, five great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

BELLA VISTA — Sally

Longbine Wirth, 92, of Bella Vista, Ark., died May 14, 2019, at Oak Pointe of Neosho. She was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Minneapoli­s, Minn., to Vernon (Tommy) I. Tompkins and June Wakefield Tompkins.

As a young nurse, Sally married Ken Longbine and raised three daughters. Their family moved to many U.S. cities during their early years, finally settling in Kansas City.

Years after Ken passed, Sally married Dick Wirth and they retired in Bella Vista. There, Sally was a member of the Eighteen Hole Women’s Golf and Bella Vista Bowling League #3.

She was preceded in death by her parents first husband Kenneth E. Longbine, second husband Richard M. Wirth, daughter Nancy L. Fitzgibbon­s and sister Jane Marenus.

She is survived by daughters Marty Longbine and Joanie Ghani; stepsons Thomas Wirth and Robert Wirth; stepdaught­er Patricia Huselton; brother Don Tompkins; sister Diane Eaton; 11 grandchild­ren, five great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gene Harmon, 80, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., passed away May 26 at home with family by his side. He was born March 11, 1939, in Bentonvill­e, Ark., to Archie and Lora Harmon.

BULL SHOALS — William

“Bill” Burrows Smith, 70, of Bull Shoals, Ark., passed away on May 17, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born in Portland, Ore., on March 5, 1949.

He graduated in 1967 from Little Rock Hall High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country for four years during the Vietnam War.

Bill attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He earned a bachelor of business management and human relations in 1977 and later earned a second bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education in 1991. Bill taught elementary school at Bayou Meto Elementary School for the majority of his 20-plus years in education.

Bill raised his family in Jacksonvil­le where he was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. After leaving Jacksonvil­le, Bill lived in various places including Lynn, Hot Springs, and finally Bull Shoals. He enjoyed the outdoors in all forms, but deer hunting was his passion. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, Arkansas Razorback events, and traveling.

Bill is survived by sons Jeremy Smith (wife Anna) of Jacksonvil­le, Ark., and Patrick Smith (wife Leslie) of Springdale, Ark.; grandchild­ren Madeline Graves, Ethan Smith, Geneva Smith, Lexa Smith, and Evan Smith; brother Lewis Smith Jr. (wife Kathy) of Orange City, Fla.; sisters Meryl Black (husband Marvin) of Hot Springs, Ark., and Alice Mowrey (husband Mark) of Hot Springs, Ark., and his best friend William Carpenter of Sherwood, Ark.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Dorothy Smith, and sister, Gaye Smith.

A memorial celebratio­n will be held this summer at a date and location to be determined. Cremation is under the direction of Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services of Bull Shoals, Ark. CINCINNATI — Lou Ella Rhine, 84-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ark., died on May 31, 2019, at Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehabilita­tion in Springdale, Ark. She was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ark., to Dan and Mabel Spears.

Lou Ella graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1953. She married Troy “Bud” Rhine in 1954. They lived most of their life in Cincinnati and Johnson, Ark. She went to work for Kearney Electric in Fayettevil­le on June 27, 1955, and worked there for many years before she retired. Lou Ella was a member of the Johnson Church of Christ in Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Troy “Bud” Rhine on March 11, 2019; and son Troy Daniel Rhine on Aug. 18, 1978.

She is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large group of “grandchild­ren.”

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Michael Richard Cassady,

53, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born in New Orleans, La., on Oct. 6, 1965, to Calvin Richard Cassady and Margaret Shirley Cassady.

He resided there briefly before living in Murfreesbo­ro, Ark., and then Little Rock, Ark. However, he called Fort Smith, Ark., home, being raised there from age 4 and graduating from Southside High School in 1984. He went on to attend the University of Arkansas. However, the true love of his life was music.

He was formally instructed in classical, Spanish, and flamenco guitar by Cuban guitar master Paul Mendy. He developed a life-long interest in classical, rock, jazz and country music for guitar. He was also interested in photograph­y and loved capturing nature shots in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. He later moved to Van Buren, Ark., to assist his parents. After his father’s death, he recently moved to Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Michael is survived by his mother, Margaret Shirley Terrell Cassady; sister Nancy Cassady Robbins and brother-in-law Dr. Joe Robbins; niece Nicole Robbins Elder and her husband Christophe­r Elder, all of Texarkana, Texas; nephew Stephen Robbins and wife Madeline Campbell Robbins of Ruston, La. He also had four great nieces and nephews, Liam, Lana, Lily and Luke Elder of Texarkana, Texas; great-aunt Dorothy Dillard of Wake Village, Texas; aunt Glenda Terrell Ashley of Sherwood, Ark., and aunt Ann Terrell Easley and uncle Melvin Easley of Columbus, Miss., and a number of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Calvin Cassady ; paternal grandparen­ts Nancy J. Cassady and Robert S. Cassady and maternal grandparen­ts Marguerite and James H. Terrell.

FAYETTEVIL­LE —

Rosemary McCarter, age 67, of Fayettevil­le passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Washington Regional Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to parents Wallace and Mabel Phillips, March 19, 1952, in Le Mars, Iowa.

“Rosie” graduated from Springdale High School in 1970 and started a family in 1976. Shortly thereafter, she started her career in the Pizza Business full time. She quickly found her calling was investing in the lives of NWA youth as they started their first jobs under her wing. Rosie worked as a manager at Jim’s Razorback Pizza for over 35 years, had a strong work ethic, and loved the hundreds of customers she called family.

Rosie is survived by her son, Wes Hill and his wife Stacci of Springdale; grandchild­ren Audrey Tipton and her husband Tyler of Prairie Grove and Jaccob Hill of Springdale; sisters Lisa Jahnke and Debbie Zumbahlen; brothers Dennis and Bobby Phillips and multiple other family members.

Rosie was preceded by both parents and brother Mike Phillips.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Rosie’s passion for higher education is one of the driving points of her work ethic. She often spoke of the importance of a college degree. PRAIRIE GROVE —

Stephen Scott England, age 58, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born Nov. 12, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Louis and Beverly (Cox) England.

Stephen grew up in St. Louis and attended Kirkwood Schools and the University of Montana. He married the love of his life, Lyn Griffin, in Las Vegas while attending an England family reunion.

He worked at Chem-Fab in Hot Springs, Ark., where he retired with back injuries. He and Lyn moved to Russellvil­le, Ark., and eventually to Prairie Grove, Ark., with their three dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother Ben England.

Survivors include his wife, Lyn Griffin England; mother Beverly England McFadden and her husband Charlie of Hot Springs, Ark.; brothers Louis “Gus” England of Oakland, Calif., and Richard Thomas England of Denver, Colo.; sister Mary Brooks England of Santa Rosa, Calif. Steve was much loved and will be greatly missed.

ROGERS — Gene Gregory (Vernon Eugene Gregory Jr.) went to his home in heaven on May 14, 2019. He was born Jan. 17, 1951, to Mildred and Vernon Eugene Gregory Senior in Del Rio, Texas.

He married Susan Jean Irvin on June 16, 1979, and moved to Arkansas. In January 2018 he and Susan moved to Jalisco, Mexico.

Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Gregory; father Vernon Gregory and sister Sandy Tvrdik. He also had three grandchild­ren awaiting him in heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Rebekah G Strickland and her husband Jason and granddaugh­ters Grace and Lainey Strickland, Melissa R Gregory and John V Gregory, all of whom reside in Northwest Arkansas. He is also survived by sisters Terry Sewell and Priscilla Gregory. In addition he will be missed by many extended family members and numerous friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church Olive Street Campus at Eighth and Olive in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Vision Building Fund of First Baptist Church Rogers.

Gene was truly a man of God always looking forward to the Lord’s return. He is no longer looking forward, he is home with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

ROGERS — Peggy Louise

Pointer, 79, of Rogers passed away May 29, 2019, in Rogers. She was born Oct. 31, 1939, in San Jon, N.M., the daughter of Evered and Willie Salyers Pointer.

Peggy was a homemaker and a member of the Pea Ridge Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time on the farm and taking care of the animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Wayne Pointer, Jim Pointer and Nancy Miles.

She is survived by sister Hazel Wells of Rocky Comfort, Mo.; brother Ralph Pointer of Rogers; several nieces and nephews. We wish to express special thanks for the loving care given by Darlene Pointer and others in order for Peggy to stay in her home after she became unable to care for herself.

SPRINGDALE — Thomas “Tom” “Tommy” Edward

Davis was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Wynne, Ark., the son of John Jefferson and Audie Merle Stricklin Davis.

He passed away May 29, 2019, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Macon, sister Lena Merle, brother Harlan Jack, brother Gaylan Fred, sister Lura Blanche “Loodie”, sister Barbara Annette and survived by sister Vivian Jenearl “Jennie” Harris, who’s responsibl­e for introducin­g him to the love of his life.

He was married to Margaret Sue Edwards for 58 years. Together they had two daughters, Jennie (and her husband Brian) and Terrie (and her husband Kent).

Tom had two grandchild­ren, Ethan (and wife Micah) and Emma, who he loved very much and loved spending time with them throwing a football or pushing on a swing or just being with them.

He loved to tease and share a good clean joke and did that especially with his grandson, Ethan, who shares this personalit­y trait.

He had many nephews and nieces who looked to him as an example for walking with Jesus Christ and loving his family and friends well.

When he got to speak with one of them, he would tell them he prayed for them regularly for blessings but most importantl­y for their relationsh­ip with Jesus Christ.

Tom served in the Army and was a proud U.S. Postal Service member for 30 years, ending his career as U.S. postmaster in Danville, Ark.

Tom loved to read his Bible, listening to and singing worship music, praying for others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on his face.

He was an honest, gentle, kind, generous, dependable, dedicated, loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know him was to love him.”

He enjoyed Razorback sports, especially Arkansas baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals.

He, with his wife, Margaret, have actively attended church and served in many capacities such as deacon, worship leader, Sunday school teacher and many other roles in the Assemblies of God Church wherever they lived.

He was passionate about the gospel being shared. He had a heart for global missions and served by going on at least 17 trips to build schools, orphanages and churches. A few of the places he went were Uruguay, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Africa, The Philippine­s, Peru, Venezuela, Belize, Ecuador and Trinidad.

He loved the Mission of Teen Challenge and served for many years on the board of the Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch in Morrow, Ark. He was also a member of Gideons Internatio­nal distributi­ng Bibles.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 1605 W Robinson Ave., Springdale, Ark., 72764.
