Date and place of birth: Oct. 2, 1968; Memphis.

The big change for me in becoming interim director of the Arkansas Arts Center is: I’m not used to being out front like this.

The thing I like best about my job is: The sound of the galleries and building being full, especially full of schoolchildren. It reminds me of the impact we have on people. Being chief financial officer besides, I am so

busy that: Yes, this is lunch. [A cup of ice cream snatched off a party table celebrating the Arkansas Arts Center’s 56th anniversary of being called the Arkansas Arts Center.]

The difference between art and money is: Art can make you rich in ways that money never could.

Other than the Arkansas Arts Center, my favorite museum is: The Art Institute of Chicago.

If I could draw, I would draw a picture of: A dog. I used to have a dog. I’m a little too busy right now to take care of a dog properly. But a dog is a definite prospect. If I happened to win $128 million in the lottery,

the way I would spend the money is: I would put $10 million in the art center’s capital campaign to complete the goal [of $128 million]. And then, I think I’d have to buy a scuba boat. I surprise people: When they don’t know I sing in the choir.

One word to sum me up: Genuine.
