Most important thing

-

The last few days have been overwhelming for a number of Arkansans. As the floodwaters move our way here in central Arkansas, watching and helping with the preparations of those who may lose so much in the next few days is somewhat surreal. For those of us whose homes and lives will be protected only by a levee in the next few days, and especially for those inside the levees, these are definitely difficult times. We pray the levees will hold, and we pray the efforts of those inside the levees will minimize the damages they will return to. When times are tough, though, it’s always great to remain grounded in what really matters. That’s why the last two days after I’ve looked at the new riverlevel forecasts, and checked the level on my lake, it’s been so helpful to check my email and see that I had a new message from Sen. Tom Cotton.

After reading his messages, I remember that we really have to keep our eyes on the ball and remain grounded when things get tough. No, sir. Tom doesn’t get distracted by rising waters. Yes, we need to focus on the reality that outsiders, liberals and Angry Democrats could very likely “steal” his seat from him in the next election. Apparently, money is pouring in from sanctuary cities to defeat him.

So all I can say is: Thanks, Tom, for helping me stay focused and remember what’s really important right now! Thanks again, Tom.
