Two Fayetteville men arrested after shooting
FAYETTEVILLE — Police said two men were arrested in connection with a Saturday afternoon shooting at a house on the south side of town.
Tavion Roberts and Zachary Turner were arrested after shots were fired about 3 p.m. at 707 S. Cherry Lane, which is just north of Huntsville Avenue west of the intersection with Crossover Road.
At least one bullet hit the home, according to a police report.
A caller reported Turner pointed a gun at him during an argument and he ran in his home, according to the report. The caller, who police didn’t identify, said Turner left in a gray Chevrolet pickup with several other men. The pickup returned a short time later and someone in the pickup fired several shots at his home with a semi-automatic pistol, the caller told police.
Police stopped the pickup on Hill Street, south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Four occupants, including Turner and Roberts, were arrested, according to the report.
The other two occupants were juveniles and no information on them is being released, police said.
A .40-caliber Beretta handgun was found in the pickup and officers found a .40-caliber shell casing outside the Cherry Lane home as well as a bullet in the home.
Turner, 19, of 1984 N. East Oaks Drive, was arrested in connection with committing a terroristic act, engaging in continuing criminal gang activity or enterprise and aggravated assault. Turner was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center with $20,000 bond set.
Roberts, 19, of 1543 W. Crown Drive, was arrested in connection with committing a terroristic act, engaging in continuing criminal gang activity or enterprise, aggravated assault and tampering with physical evidence. Roberts was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center with $15,000 bond set.
