Singer, Blanco spur Naturals to 7-2 win over RockHounds

SPRINGDALE — Dairon Blanco singled twice, and Brady Singer allowed just six hits over seven innings as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals topped the Midland RockHounds 7-2 on Monday. The loss snapped a fivegame winning streak for the RockHounds.

Singer (6-3) allowed one run while striking out seven to get the win.

Down 2-0 in the fourth, Midland cut into the lead when Tyler Ramirez hit an RBI double, bringing home Edwin Diaz.

The Naturals added to their lead in the fifth inning when Kevin Merrell hit an RBI single, scoring Blake Perkins.

Grant Holmes (6-5) went 41/3 innings, allowing three runs and six hits in the Texas League game. He also struck out two and walked one.

Nate Mondou singled three times for the RockHounds.

Despite the loss, Midland is 8-4 against Northwest Arkansas this season.

ARKANSAS 5, CORPUS CHRISTI 2

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cal Raleigh hit a two-run homer in the second inning, leading the Arkansas Travelers to a win over the Corpus Christi Hooks.

The home run by Raleigh scored Jordan Cowan to give the Travelers a 2-0 lead.

After Arkansas added two runs, the Hooks cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Bryan De La Cruz scored on a groundout.

The Travelers tacked on another run in the eighth when Cowan scored on a wild pitch.

Matt Tenuta (3-2) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Corpus Christi starter Brandon Bailey (4-5) took the loss in the Texas League game.

TULSA 9, AMARILLO 2

AMARILLO — Connor Wong homered and had three hits as the Tulsa Drillers beat the Amarillo Sod Poodles.

Tulsa started the scoring in the second when it crossed the plate for three runs, including RBI singles by Drew Avans and Omar Estevez.

Leo Crawford (2-0) got the win in relief.
