CUTTER MORNING STAR 33, MAGAZINE 32

Landon West completed a 43-yard touchdown pass to quarterbac­k Sam Moore in the fourth quarter to help Cutter Morning Star earn the win.

Cutter Morning Star trailed 32-26 but tied the game on the trick play on fourth-and-4 with less than seven minutes left. The extra point proved to be the winning margin. Magazine threw an intercepti­on with 45 seconds left to seal the deal.

Caleb Hyatt rushed for 226 yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns to lead Magazine (2-1). Hyatt’s fourth touchdown went for 29 yards and gave the Rattlers a 32-26 lead. A try for two points was unsuccessf­ul with 9:40 left in the fourth quarter.

GRAVETTE 34, JAY, OKLA. 13

Cy Hilger threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Gravette earned a home nonconfere­nce win over Jay, Okla., giving Kelby Bohannon his first victory as the Lions’ head coach.

Hilger hit Mason Dagley with a 20-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to give the Lions (1-2) a lead they never relinquish­ed. Gravette led 21-0 at halftime after Hilger ran 11 yards for a score, then hit Ian Drake with a 49-yard touchdown pass with 1:38 before halftime.

Hilger hit Dagley again with another 20-yard touchdown pass before Jay scored twice to make it a 28-13 game. Gravette then closed out the scoring on Chace Austin’s 32-yard touchdown run with under a minute remaining.

Hilger completed 17 of 28 passes for 270 yards, while Dagley had eight catches for 121 yards and two scores. Austin added 97 yards on 17 carries, while Trenton Durham led the Lions’ defense with 15 tackles (3 solos, 12 assists), 1.5 quarterbac­k sacks and four tackles for loss.

POTTSVILLE 34, PRAIRIE GROVE 28

Emiliano Torres ran 15 yards for a touchdown with 18 seconds remaining as Pottsville rallied to defeat Prairie Grove, causing the Tigers to go winless through nonconfere­nce play for the first time in 10 years.

Prairie Grove (0-3) led 28-20 after Keiandre Hobbs’ 3-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, but Pottsville pulled within 28-26 on Konnor Carpenter’s 65-yard touchdown pass to Ben Jones with 10:17 remaining. The Apaches then drove 78 yards for the go-ahead score after their defense stopped the Tigers short on a fourth-down play with 3:24 remaining, and Drew Rust — a 6-1, 270-pound fullback — added the two-point conversion.

Prairie Grove jumped out to a 14-0 lead with Knox Laird’s 1-yard touchdown run and Jared Hartger’s 1-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter. The Tigers’ other score came on Hobbs’ 3-yard touchdown run just as the first half ended.

BERRYVILLE 43, YELLVILLE-SUMMIT 6

Berryville’s defense held Yellville-Summit to minus-27 yards total offense in the second half and 98 yards for the game as the Bobcats rolled to a nonconfere­nce win.

Berryville (2-1) had 10 different players carry the football and compiled 324 yards on 48 carries, while J.D. Smith added 50 yards on 2-of-5 passing.

Tristan Updegraff had two touchdowns and finished with 41 yards on six carries, while Jaden Tanksley had 69 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Brett Parsons and Dominic Henry each ran for a touchdown, and Henry added another score with a 50-yard punt return.

LINCOLN 54, SUBIACO ACADEMY 7

Lincoln built a 28-7 halftime lead and rolled to its third consecutiv­e victory.

Levi Wright caught two touchdown passes for the Wolves (3-0), who open 4A-1 Conference play this week at Gravette.

DANVILLE 7, WALDRON 2

It took until the fourth quarter for Danville (2-1) to score, but it was enough to lead the Little Johns over Waldron (0-3).

Danville’s Lawson Wilkins scored the game-winning touchdown on a 13-yard run with eight minutes left in the game.

The Bulldogs scored their only points on a safety in the final minute.
