Fans react to San Jose State quarterback Josh Love’s career passing day against the Arkansas defense ….

eaglehog5: Josh Love joins Gary Nova (of Rutgers) and an endless parade of future hall of famers for a day who had their way with the Arkansas defense.

jhawg: That is so true. This has been going on for several years. We make every quarterback we play look like a stud for that week. …Somebody, please help us.

What did athletic director Hunter Yuracheck say to the Little Rock Touchdown Club two days after Arkansas lost to San Jose State, 31-24?

rzbackangler: He totally supported the coach and his staff.

ricemab54: At this time, Yurachek has to offer support or this year will really get bad. … Last week, we saw the worst of this team. We definitely need their best this week or we will be embarrassed again.

jhawg: That is all any AD would say at this juncture. What else could he say? Don’t most of us expect Coach Morris to be here at least through year three? We should just support our Hogs and hope to see improvement through the remainder of this season.

lovemyhogsforever: When the AD offers his support to the coach and his staff, that’s usually the kiss of death.

Would it be better for Arkansas to take the ball after winning the coin toss rather than deferring the choice to the second half ?

bushhog: I get having ball after half, but man, let’s be aggressive and take the ball and score first and get momentum. And at least we avoid the opposition having a big play or scoring drive to deflate us before the game barely begins.

MattJones: I heard someone make a similar point … He said, “Why would you voluntarily put your weakest group on the field first?”

bakedhog19741: I think it’s because it’s a Bill Belichick thing. He figured out, it would give you the ball just before half and to open the third quarter. Possibly 14 points. Problem with other coaches doing this is their QB isn’t named Brady.

jhawg: Chad Morris is an offensive coach. He should want the ball. …It is a sign of confidence to your team to take the ball and ram it down the opponent’s throat and get the lead. It is so much easier to play with a lead, especially with a team like we have this year. It makes sense, maybe, to defer if you have a great defensive team, but we don’t.

Was leaving Nick Starkel in the game a good call?

gashog: There isn’t one really, and I know I’m in the minority here, but I was glad to see Coach Morris stick with Starkel and let him play through stuff. And I know most will drop this one at the door of the D, especially on here. But having said all that, I was stunned at the offense’s performance today and Starkel, coming off a good game last week… I lay this at the O’s feet more than any.

rzbackangler: Wait a minute…the QB throws for over 400 yards against us and it’s our offense’s fault? I think I heard it here that defense wins games.

gashog: You didn’t hear that from me. Scoring against championship caliber defenses wins championships. Always has. And I don’t consider defense an offensive endeavor.

Score predictions for Saturday’s game against Texas A&M …

generalhog: Always the optimist, Arkansas 38, A&M 37.

jacksonreid: A&M 30, Arkansas 14.

LDhog: No comment. razorwill: Don’t stand a chance, but will cover the spread. Aggies 38, Hogs 17.

bakedhog19741: aTm 35, AR 21. Aggies score late to put the game away.

harleyhawgidson: If my life depended on me winning this bet, I’d give the 23 points and take A&M. I’d probably give any number up to 30. The only thing I see that works in the favor of the Hogs covering is the 11 a.m. start. That might prevent a fired up A&M and home crowd from dropping a quick 21 on us. I will be really happy to be wrong. Well, unless it actually costs me my life.

white25: A&M 32, ARK 8. Please stop playing this game at the Death Star.

stillgreghog: Very down today. Hogs, very few. A$M, as many as they want.

eaglehog5: Aggie band trounces Marching Razorbacks at halftime. Freshman trumpet player (my son, Luke) has outstanding performance. This is the only part of Saturday that I am looking forward to.

SWHog: Reality bites hard. Aggies 52, Hogs 14. A&M quarterback has a career day throwing for 435 yards and five touchdowns. Starkel has a better day on only throws three picks, all in the red zone.

bobghog: We’ll lose but I actually expect a much better game from our guys. Might be interesting.

poochpunt: Aggies 45, Hogs 13. Hogs score 13 with the third string John Stephen Jones. I will be catching crappie at Stockton Lake in a creek arm with my phone disabled. Too old to torture myself with another debacle.

Hogbacker: Aggies 42, Hogs 10. This is getting old.

georgiahawg: They held Clemson to 24 points. Mond is a machine. TAM 31, AR. 21.

hawgjawbend: Aggies 6234. What makes anyone think our defense can stop a team like the Aggies? I do think the offense will show signs of life.

ricemab54: Actually this might be our best chance to win an SEC game. Starkel and Rakeem Boyd will be ready to play and I would be surprised if both didn’t have a big game. … I also want to believe that the team knows that they had a horrible game and that the team effort will have to be great. … I don’t think that it is impossible to win Saturday. Unlikely, but we should never have lost to SJS. Arkansas 28, A&M 38.

hogsrus: Aggies 51, Hogs 17. Sorry for my optimism.

suigeneris: 45-24. And not in a good way.

gahogfan: SEC Network says A&M is the best twoloss team in the country and what they need right now to rebuild their confidence is a “cupcake” … And we’re it. … So it will be ugly. 45-17, I hope. It could be even worse.

moark777: A&M will be flat and Arkansas will be fired up. No way Jimbo Fisher will be able to get his players to take Arkansas seriously after losing to a 3-22 team last week. Plus, after failing in the big stage last week, the Aggies will not be ready. Arkansas 28, Texas AM 27.

Jeff_Loggins: As bad as this hurts my feelings, A&M 62, Ar. 24.

razorbacker79: I was really hoping Aggies would beat Auburn. Would possibly make this a trap game for them. I’m hoping it still turns out that way, but until the Hogs’ defense proves it can stop anybody consistently I can’t fathom any positive results. … Offense will play better, but it won’t be enough. Aggies 55, Razorbacks 31.

davispard: As my grandson would say, a ton to none.

willis: Arkansas is my alma mater. I have never expected us to lose. Never! Until now. Aggies 173, Arkansas 0. I think that was the predicted score Grant Morgan gave us for San Jose State, so I’m going with that.

dbhog: Aggies 56, Hogs 17. If the defense can’t stop San Jose State, what makes anyone thing they can stop the Aggies? Aggies might score more than what I predicted.

neastarkie: The Aggies are overlooking us. I predict they will beat us, but only by 30 points or less.

Llilhawg: I am an old Razorback in every sense of the word. But I’m a realist. The last 30 games have convinced me we have a long way to go to get competitive again. Aggies win big.
