ARKANSAS vs. TEXAS A&M: HOW WE SEE IT

-

CLAY HENRY, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

Texas A&M is like San Jose State, the better team. And, it could be by a lot. Effort was lacking against the Spartans. That will probably change this week, but the difference in line talent will be the main issue. Texas A&M 27-13.

MATT JONES, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

The Southwest Classic has been one of the closest, most unpredictable games on the schedule most years. The Razorbacks might surprise, but it’s difficult to imagine them staying with a team like Texas A&M after losing to San Jose State. Texas A&M 41-17.

DUDLEY E. DAWSON, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

Arkansas is going to find a mad bunch of Aggies in Arlington after Texas A&M suffered a home loss to Auburn. Former Aggies Nick Starkel and Rakeem Boyd will likely have good games, but it’s tough to predict a UA win from here on out. Texas A&M 35-17.

HARRY KING, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

It is difficult to imagine the Arkansas defense pulling off the turnaround needed to shut down the Aggies. Texas A&M 37-20.

JON NABORS, THE MORNING RUSH

Both Hogs and Aggies limp into Arlington coming off tough losses and have a little bit of a hangover. Aggies get up early, Hogs storm back in the 3rd, but it’s too little too late. Texas A&M 28-21.

BART POHLMAN, THE HOG POD

After a home loss to a bad San Jose State team, it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which Arkansas is competitive in the SEC West. Texas A&M is by far the best team the Hogs have faced this year, but these matchups are typically close. The Hogs will hang around for a bit, but that’ll be all. Texas A&M 35-13.

TOMMY CRAFT, THE MORNING RUSH

Arkansas needs to get some injured players back, but the main issue is in the trenches. The Hogs can’t continue to be manhandled on both sides of the line and keep it respectable. Texas A&M 42-21.

ALYSSA ORANGE, PIG TRAIL NATION

From the beginning of the season I had Arkansas winning this game. They’ve always played the Aggies well in Jerryworld, and I thought this could be the year the Hogs finally win. I’ve changed my mind. They’ll play better than they did against SJS, but the Aggies are coming off a loss to Auburn at home and will be better prepared. Texas A&M 38-17.

SCOTTIE BORDELON, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

It is truly hard to envision a bounce-back performance after the loss to San Jose State. Texas A&M is more talented and much more physical than the Razorbacks. Aggies receivers Kendrick Rogers and Jhamon Ausbon could have huge games against Arkansas’ secondary. Texas A&M 31-17.

SETH CAMPBELL, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

The optimist in me points to the last two years, when Arkansas hasn’t been very good, but this game was still close. The pessimist in me doesn’t know how the Hogs could come close, so we’ll split the difference. Texas A&M 35-21.

CHIP SOUZA, NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE

A signature win in his second season, a first SEC win, a victory over his alma mater and a chance to rally the fan base that might be losing patience after last week’s inexplicable loss to San Jose State could all be there for Chad Morris. Arkansas 28-21.
