POWER RANKINGS
Breaking down the ACC
1. Clemson (4-0, 2-0):
The Tigers take on another opponent from North Carolina with a trip to Chapel Hill this week.
2. Virginia (4-0, 2-0):
The Cavaliers struggled at home against Old Dominion, so the Notre Dame trip looks troubling.
3. Wake Forest (4-0, 0-0):
The Demon Deacons made it through their non-league slate unscathed, but things are about to become more challenging.
4. Pittsburgh (2-2, 0-1):
The Panthers figured out the ending at the goal line with the upset of Central Florida.
5. Syracuse (2-2, 0-1):
Orange ought to have concerns on the defensive side after giving up more big numbers.
6. North Carolina State (3-1, 0-0):
The Wolfpack was special on special teams in the Ball State game — and it’s a good thing.
7. Boston College (3-1, 1-0):
The Eagles felt better after defeating Rutgers, but tougher days could be ahead.
8. North Carolina (2-2, 1-0):
The Tar Heels are in close games every week. Does the trend continue vs. Clemson?
9. Miami (2-2, 0-1):
The Hurricanes win two games in a row, but the momentum takes a break with an open date on the slate.
10. Virginia Tech (2-1, 0-1):
The Hokies usually have trouble with Duke at home so this matchup should have their attention.
11. Florida State (2-2, 1-1):
The Seminoles might be fortunate to be at .500 through four games.
12. Duke (2-1, 0-0):
The Blue Devils conveniently had the weekend off. Wonder if they watched former teammate Daniel Jones win in the NFL for the N.Y. Giants?
13. Georgia Tech (1-2, 0-1):
Strange how this works, but first-year Yellow Jackets coach Geoff Collins takes his team to face Temple (his former team) this week.
14. Louisville (2-2, 0-1):
The Cardinals had a shot to upend Florida State, and there could be more such opportunities.
