Good things happen

-

I’ve spent lots of time in the Little Rock School District as a student, a PTA member and parent of four LRSD graduates, and an advocate and volunteer, and what I have seen makes me proud to be an LRSD supporter.

Good things are happening in all our schools due to the help of a strong community of supporters with a common goal of student success. With the support of their LRSD family, students are succeeding beyond expectations, hardworking teachers are striving daily to help them reach their full potential, and school staff are focused on surrounding students with the support they need to thrive.

I’ve seen high school students cheering when fruit smoothies were introduced for breakfast to give them the nutrition boost they need to succeed, middle school students and parents applauding volunteers who put a fresh coat of paint on their lockers and plan to start a mentor program, elementary students excited to be able to read their favorite book while eating breakfast in their classroom, award-winning art displays and musical performances by students who enjoy an amazing arts program at a nearby church, and teachers smiling from ear to ear as their students read their prize-winning essays and performed in poetry jams.

I’ve seen the superintendent climb on top of his building and stay for hours to encourage donations of food for hungry students and their families, teachers and principals arrive at school before dawn and leave after dark because they are committed to their students, and parents cheering for their kids at graduation ceremonies from kindergarten through high school.

Great things are happening in the LRSD. Come join our LRSD family— we are stronger together!
