ARKANSAS vs. MISSOURI: HOW WE SEE IT

-

CLAY HENRY, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

It comes down to which defensive line can get to the quarterback. Arkansas did not get one tackle from its starting two defensive tackles against LSU — and no pressure on quarterback Joe Burrow. Can a pair of seniors go out with a bang? T.J. Smith and McTelvin Agim reach down in the emotional well for one last push. Arkansas, 24-21.

SETH CAMPBELL, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

The Arkansas defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone all season long, and I don’t see that changing against Missouri. Missouri, 38-21.

MATT JONES, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

Arkansas is due some War Memorial magic, but it’s hard to pick a team with so many question marks, especially at quarterback. Missouri 31-17.

HARRY KING, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

If the defense makes a key stop or two, the Razorbacks will run the ball often and with enough success to shorten the game. Arkansas 24-21.

TOMMY CRAFT, THE MORNING RUSH

Arkansas and Missouri have both had disappointing seasons, but a win in the final game would be a big morale boost heading into an uncertain offseason for these players and coaches. Arkansas, 28-27.

DUDLEY E. DAWSON, HAWGS ILLUSTRATED

Another long season is put to bed and a new era begins. It can’t get started quickly enough for a program that will be a woeful 4-20 the last two years. Former Fayetteville QB Taylor Powell comes out of the bullpen to seal it for the Tigers. Missouri, 35-21.

JOHN NABORS, THE MORNING RUSH

Arkansas ends a nightmare season with a solid effort. But the Hogs make too many mistakes that the Tigers capitalize on and leave War Memorial Stadium with a second straight 2-10 year. Missouri, 31-21.

SCOTTIE BORDELON, WHOLE HOG SPORTS

These teams have combined to lose 13 consecutive games this season. That’s what we’re working with here. Kelly Bryant and Missouri win an ugly one to put a bow on another historically poor year for Arkansas. Missouri, 34-23.

BART POHLMAN, THE HOG POD

The only good thing going for Arkansas is that the season is almost over. This is the lowest point in program history, and a fourth-straight loss to Missouri will hammer it home. The Tigers have hit the skids, losing five straight, but need a win for bowl eligibility. They get it in Little Rock. Missouri, 31-20.

TYE RICHARDSON, HALF TIME

Arkansas covered, a step in the right direction. Who starts at QB next week. I have no idea … Missouri, 38-24.

CHIP SOUZA, NWA DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE

This border battle is more like a pillow fight, but Missouri has a little more stuffing in its sack. Missouri 31-14.
