BENTONVILLE — The city and Benton County announced closures related to covid-19 on Sunday.

The book drops at the library and community center will not be available for use during the closure, the release stated.

The library will extend the due date on all items currently checked out to April 6. Items that have due dates past April 6 will be due on their original due date. Late fees will not be assessed during this time, the release stated.

All other essential city operations are in service, the release stated.

The Benton County Administration Building, 215 E. Central Ave., will be closed to the public starting today, and will remain closed until further notice, according to a county news release.

If residents need to assess, collect, record or reach elected officials for questions, they may go online or call (479) 271-1000. All online services — assessments, tax payments, recording and court billings — will continue to operate, the release stated.

Felony criminal cases and

emergency hearings will remain on the docket unless reset by order, the release stated. If someone is involved in a felony criminal case, they must still appear at the court facility unless an order has been entered resetting their criminal case. If in doubt, individuals are urged to contact their attorney. Bench warrants will still be issued for failure to appear without a resetting order in place.

County employees will continue to work within county facilities, but to protect vital operations such as 911 communications and the information technology department, the administration building must close, the release stated.

Satellite offices will remain open to the public and are at:

• Siloam Springs office: 707 S. Lincoln St. Collector, county clerk and assessor.

• Rogers Annex: 2111 W. Walnut St. County clerk.

• Rogers office: 1428 W. Walnut St. Assessor and collector.

• Bentonville office: 2401 S. D St. Collector and assessor.
