Man accused of raping teenage girl
BENTONVILLE — A Jonesboro man was arrested after a 16-year-old girl told police she recorded him attempting to rape her, according to court documents filed Monday.
Cleotis Milton, 50, was being held Monday in the Benton County Jail on $150,000 bond after his arrest last week in connection with two counts of rape and sexual indecency with a child. Prosecutors haven’t filed formal charges against him.
Siloam Springs police began investigating March 10 after receiving a report concerning the rape of the teen.
The girl was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County. She reported Milton raped her in the past, so she set up her phone in her room in case he tried to rape her again, according to the affidavit.
The teen said Milton came into her room and offered her $100, but she knocked it out of his hand, the affidavit says. The girl said Milton then attempted to rape her and she was able to fight him off, according to the affidavit.
The girl said Milton left her room and she stopped the recording, but Milton later returned to the room and raped her. The girl said Milton had been sexually abusing her since she was 12 years old, according to the affidavit.
Police reviewed the video, which shows Milton offering the girl money and then her kicking him off her, according to the affidavit.
An 11-year-old girl was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center and said Milton exposed himself to her, according to the affidavit.
Milton’s arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 28 in Benton County Circuit Judge Brad Karren’s court.
