Thoughts for the day

-

These protests are currently self-motivated deprecation which is, unfortunately, perpetuating the erroneous stereotype that the black man is violent and unruly. All lives matter, black and blue. Because when it all comes down to it, we all bleed red. So

I will say it is time to take up the mantle that says there is only one race, the human race, and all lives matter. You hurt one of us, egregiously, then we all hurt.

Let’s make this man’s death (George Floyd’s) have meaning. Let’s not meet hate with hate, violence with violence.

Let us exemplify the peaceful March on Washington led by one of the greatest men in history, Martin Luther King. For Martin Luther King had a dream, it was that “little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.” He spent countless hours organizing peaceful protests so that one day all God’s children would be able to rejoice and thank God for our freedom and our liberties.

So get together, hold hands with your fellow man or woman (regardless of skin color or gender, religion or sexuality), and chant this to the powers that be: one race, the human race.

Let those in power realize that we are but one race, and let us remind them (and ourselves) that we are here to realize and actualize Martin Luther King’s dream to have our children live in a nation where “they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Help me actualize Martin Luther King’s dream; spread the message. Be ashamed at the violence, no matter who it is against. Expect (and work for) peace for the human race. May peace be with you.
