TEXARKANA — Jeff D. Sanderson, former circuit clerk and mayor, has filed in the federal court here a motion asking that he be made a party defendant in the suit of the Madison Bond Company against the City of Texarkana, Ark., for the collection of $204,000 in bonds issued two and a half years ago by the city to obtain a cash loan, and on which it is claimed, the city has defaulted payment. It is said that the purpose of Sanderson’s motion is to prevent the appointment of a receiver for the city and the levying of a 100 per cent valuation on property for advalorem taxation. It also is proposed to test the legality of the issuance of the bonds by the city. It is contended that such issuance was illegal and that the city did not get the full amount of the money as recited in the deal with the bond company.
