Restoration Village invites Northwest Arkansans to AIM for Advocacy and restore hope for women and children in crisis. Due to their concern for the current public health situation, the nonprofit organization has shifted its largest in-person annual fundraiser to a virtual event, organizers say. The AIM for Advocacy Online Auction and Virtual Fundraiser will be Aug. 14-21 at biddingowl.com/RestorationVillage.

“Restoration Village is Northwest Arkansas’ faith-based, longterm crisis shelter for women and children. Their mission is to restore hope and break the cycle of abuse for each woman and child by providing safe shelter and life-changing services. The Village offers long-term communal and transitional housing, as well as a wide range of services including advocacy, individual and group counseling, equine therapy and enrichment activities for their residents.”

Auction items include experiences such as guided fishing trips for two or four people, sporting

clays and golf outings and gift cards from area merchants.

There are also opportunities for backers to donate to “Fund-ANeed” on the auction web page. Options to help directly meet a current need range from $50 to $3,333 and include groceries for a week or a month; utilities for a week or a month; maintenance for a week or a month; a birthday gift for a child or a resident; and enrichment activities for a month.

“The Village has given me hope again,” said a current resident. “I was at the point where I had no support and no place to stay and had turned to drugs. Being at the

Village has turned that around.” In her time at Restoration Village, this resident was able to celebrate her first sober Mother’s Day.
