POWER RANKINGS

-

1. Clemson (6-0, 5-0 ACC): The biggest question looming: Which Tiger will be sporting the 1940 replica leather helmet presented to the MVP of the ClemsonBoston College clash on Saturday?

2. Notre Dame (5-0, 4-0): After a tooclose-for-comfort five-point win against Louisville, the Fighting Irish flexed their muscle by lambasting Pitt 45-3.

3. Miami (5-1, 4-1): After an open date, Miami’s upcoming challenge includes back-to-back road games at N.C. State and Virginia Tech.

4. North Carolina (4-1, 4-1): The Tar Heels walloped the Wolfpack in a game that marked just the third time in series history that both teams entered the game ranked.

5. Virginia Tech (3-2, 3-2): The Hokies, who have fallen from the polls after being upset at Wake Forest on Saturday, now head to Louisville.

6. N.C. State (4-2, 4-2): With three consecutive home games coming up following an open date, it’s make-or-break time for the Wolfpack.

7. Wake Forest (3-2, 2-2): The Deacons knocked off Virginia Tech thanks in no small part to walk-on freshman defensive back Nick Andersen’s three interceptions.

8. Boston College (4-2, 3-2): The Eagles snapped a three-game skid Saturday by posting their first-ever home victory against Georgia Tech.

9. Louisville (2-4, 1-4): With its high-powered offense, Louisville is a team that could finish with a flourish.

10. Pitt (3-4, 2-4): If there’s a team badly in need of an open date, it’s Pitt. 11. Florida State (2-4, 1-4): The Seminoles have surrendered 210 points this season, the most allowed through six games in program history.

12. Georgia Tech (2-4, 2-3): The Yellow Jackets have committed 18 turnovers in six games, the second-most among 101 FBS teams this season.

13. Virginia (1-4, 1-4): Talk about a reversal of fortune. Virginia was 4-1 at this point last season en route to an ACC Championship Game appearance.

14. Duke (1-5, 1-5): Duke is prepping for a three-game homestand against Charlotte, North Carolina and Wake Forest, so a “state title” could still be in play.

15. Syracuse (1-5, 1-4): Syracuse gave No. 1 Clemson all it could handle for 2½ quarters before the Tigers pulled away on Saturday.
