ROGERS — Allie Ruth Odle Vastine
died Dec. 11, 2020. She was born to Allie F. Lane Odle and Charles C. Odle March 28, 1923, in Crossett, Ark.
She was Valedictorian graduate of Crossett High School in 1941. She was on the staff of the high school newspaper and co-editor of the school yearbook.
She did clerical work for the Crossett Company and Chase Bag Company and secretarial work for Georgia Pacific and Crossett School District.
She was a member of Crossett First Baptist Church. She taught second-grade Sunday school and, also was active in her adult Sunday School Class and Women’s Missionary Group.
She married Arthur Douglas Vastine on Dec. 27, 1941. They moved to Rogers, Ark., in 1977. She was blessed as a member of Rogers’ First Baptist Church and served as a homebound visitor from 1980 until 2010.
She was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur; her daughter, Martha Louise Vastine; and two sisters, Vivian Taylor and Velma Easterling; and a nephew, Charles Taylor.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur Lane Vastine, wife Sally, Douglas Allen Vastine, wife Karen; two granddaughters, Hope Shoultz
(Mike) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Beth Noblin (Tony) of Rogers, Ark.; one grandson, James Vastine (Jaime) of Texas; two step-granddaughters, Sheri Millican and Stephanie Alban; one step-grandson, Richard Roberts, all of Texas; a niece, Becky Meadows from Hot Springs, Ark.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, from 10-10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Rogers, located at the Olive Street Campus. A celebration of Allie Ruth’s Life will be Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Rogers, located at the Olive Street Campus with Pastor Wes George officiating. The family ask that everyone to wear your mask to the services.
