ROGERS — George Frank Hamling Jr.,
87, of Rogers went to be with our Lord Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. George was born Jan. 13, 1933, to George Frank Hamling Sr. and Marie Ernestine (Zimmerman) Hartman in Big Rock, Ark.
He was united in marriage Feb. 14, 1981, to Reba Ash in Rogers, Ark. George was a veteran of the Army and served in the 4th Armored Division in Korea. He worked for the railroad in Illinois before moving to Arkansas. He owned George’s RV before retiring when he restored vintage gas pumps, signs and other petroleum collectibles. He was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Teresa Bost.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are wife Reba Hamling of Rogers, Ark.; daughters Linda Soboj and husband Dennis of Rogers, Carol Creswell and husband Curtis of Decatur, Texas, and Cheryl Gober of Fayetteville, Ark.; step sons Steven Ash of Eureka Springs, Ark., and Rick Ash and wife Sarah of Rogers, Ark.; grandchildren Brian Hartmann of Rockford, Ill., Paula Hartmann Reed of Phoenix, Ariz., Christopher Creswell and wife Emily of Decatur, Texas, Christina Creswell of Little Elm, Texas, Dustin Gober and wife Priscilla of Fort Benning, Ga., John Stotts of Fayetteville, Ark., and Hannah Ash of Fayetteville, Ark.; brothers Henry (Butch) Hartman of Farmington, Ark., Dan Hartman of Perry, Ark., and Delores Gangluff of Hattieville, Ark.; and a host of friends and relatives.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at St. Mary Cemetery with deacon Steve Mallett officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Online guestbook: www.harrisfuneralhomes.net .
