ROGERS — Marian Rae Lynch Herndon,

89, passed away unexpected­ly on Dec. 4, 2020, at the Circle of Life Facility in Springdale. Marian was born on June 13, 1931, in Artesia, N.M., to the late Raymond Eugene and Emily Elizabeth (Williamson) Lynch.

Marian completed an Associate of Arts from Lux College in San Francisco, Calif., in 1949. She married Roy William Herndon on Aug. 20, 1949, in Marin County, Calif., and they settled in San Francisco, Calif. The Herndons celebrated 71 years of marriage in August of 2020.

Marian had membership­s in many churches, but most recently attended Fellowship of NWA in Rogers, Ark. She was a member and leader of Trails Club of Rossmore. Marian was known for her amazing cookies at church and hiking club, with neighbors and her grandchild­ren.

When asked several years ago what she wished her legacy to be, Marian responded that she would like for her children to have “a total dependence on the Lord for everything” and she would like future generation­s to “know the Lord is real and that he is interested in you and wants to work with you … if you’ll, listen and obey.” She is loved and missed by all who experience­d her unconditio­nal love and genuine desire to invest in each person that she encountere­d.

In addition to her parents, Marian was predecease­d by two grandsons, John W. Brown and Lucas L. Brown.

Surviving family members include her husband, Roy William Herndon, of Rogers; son, Mark W. Herndon and his wife, Cheryl of Vero Beach, Fla., son, Paul F. Herndon and his wife, Bea Jay of Centerton, son, Stephen G. Herndon and his wife, Noemi of San Francisco, Calif., son, Philip E. Herndon and his wife Deborah of Walnut Creek, Calif.; daughter, Joy E. Herndon Lewis and her husband, Joseph of Rogers, daughter, Elizabeth D. Herndon Newlun and her husband, John of Rogers; 40 grandchild­ren; 50 great-grandchild­ren; and five great-great-grandchild­ren; and her sister, Judith Mae (Lynch) Shrout of Albany, Ore.

A private family reception will be held on Dec. 12, 2020, with a large memorial celebratio­n held in June of 2021 in Walnut Creek, Calif. Contact her son, Phil, for more informatio­n.
