AUSTIN, Texas — Katherine “Katy” (Weisser) Howard,

age 92, died peacefully with family by her side at home in Austin, Texas, on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

She was the loving wife of Robert B. Howard, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Born in McKees Rocks and raised on Neville Island, Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of Edward and Clara Weisser, and sister to, Mary, Charles, Clara, Edward, Henry, Joseph and William.

Katy graduated from Neville High School and worked for the Dravo Corporatio­n as a stenograph­er for two years before marrying the love of her life, “Red.” She dedicated her time to raising her daughters and caring for her family and was a superb homemaker and fantastic cook.

Katy and Red retired to Rogers, Ark., in 1986, and enjoyed living on Beaver Lake for over 30 years, making many friends along the way. She took much joy in her work as a longtime volunteer at the NWA Women’s Shelter Thrift Shop and later at Mercy Hospital. She was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, and her kindness, thoughtful­ness and generosity will be remembered by many.

She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Haran and husband Terry of Broomfield, Colo., Judy Rodriguez and husband Jaime of Austin, Texas, and Amy Klee and husband Greg of Nahant, Mass; six grandchild­ren, two step-grandchild­ren, and five great-grandchild­ren; brotherin-law, William Howard and sister-in-law, Charlsie Bixler both of Sturgis, Miss.

A burial service will be held at a later date in Rogers.
