“MaMa,” 75, of Lowell died surrounded by her family Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born March 30, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Earlene Vonceil Chisum and Henry Aldon Fowler.

She was a prayer warrior and an active member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers, where she was known as “The Church Grandma.” She was a friend’s best friend. The most important part of her life was loving her Lord, and loving her children, grandchild­ren, and great-grandchild­ren.

She loved spending time with her granddaugh­ters and great-granddaugh­ter, shopping, dressing up, and enjoying jewelry with one another, as well as playing marbles with her great-grandson.

She moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1972 from Bakersfiel­d, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Dee.

Gladys is survived by husband of 53 years, Jim Gay, whom she married Feb. 24, 1967; son John Gay and wife Joy of Gentry; daughters Christine Elaine Miner and husband Dean of Madison County and Melissa Ball of Bella Vista; brother John Fowler and wife Vicki of Hanford, Calif.; three nieces; two nephews; grandchild­ren Brittney, Tiffany and Rebekah; and great- grandchild­ren Aldon and Riley.

No public visitation will be held. Interment will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Rogers.

A celebratio­n of Gladys’s life will begin at 2 p. m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers with Pastor James Longmate officiatin­g. Memorials may be sent to New Hope Assembly of God Church to “The General Fund.”
