UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA
Alexis Oneal of Springdale graduated Dec. 5 from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
The virtual commencement ceremony included 618 undergraduate and graduate candidates. Each graduate received a personalized video commemorating their achievement.
The University of Tampa is a private university located on 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa Fla. Known for academic excellence, personal attention and real-world experience in its undergraduate and graduate programs, the university serves approximately 10,000 students from 50 states and typically about 130 countries.
BIOLA UNIVERSITY
Brock Harris, a freshman at Biola University and resident of Bentonville, was among 338 freshmen who received one the college’s highest scholarships — the President’s or Provost’s scholarship — for the 202021 academic year. Harris is studying engineering physics.
Students are considered for this scholarship upon admission to the university based on the combination of their GPA and SAT, both math and English, scores. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.2 while taking courses at Biola to receive the scholarship the following year.
Biola University is a nationally ranked Christian university in La Mirada, Calif. Biola students attended classes remotely this fall through “Biola at Home,” a new digital experience of a Biola education.
CLARKSON UNIVERSITY
Joe Nathaniel Tudor of Fort Smith, a senior majoring in computer science, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester at Clarkson University.
Dean’s List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.
Located in Potsdam, N.Y., Clarkson is a private university considered a leader in technological education and sustainable economic development through teaching, scholarship, research and innovation.
UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA
Abigail Liddell of Omaha, Ark., is among 196 students who have earned recognition for their academic excellence from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln’s College of Business. The college recently recognized the students for their academic performance during the 2019-20 school year with the Clifford M. Hicks, LeRossignol and William Gold scholar awards.
Liddell, a finance major, earned the James E. LeRossignol Scholar Award.
Ninety-five juniors whose academic performance was at the top of their class earned the LeRossignol Award. The award is named after James E. LeRossignol, the first dean of the business college.
The University of Nebraska at Lincoln is the flagship public research university in Nebraska and is a member of the Big Ten Conference.
HARDING UNIVERSITY
Katherine Yates of Bentonville is one of more than 100 students who received diplomas and were recognized as Harding University graduates for summer 2020 during a virtual ceremony on Aug. 15. These graduates were recognized alongside over 800 additional students who completed their degrees in May.
Yates received a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling.
Harding University is a private Christian university located in Searcy.
