▪ Prince Philip was transferred Monday to a specialized London heart hospital to undergo testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition as he continues to be treated for an unspecified infection, Buckingham Palace said. The 99-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II was moved from King Edward VII’s Hospital, where he has been treated since Feb. 17, to St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, which specializes in cardiac care. The palace says Philip “remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week.” Philip was admitted to the private King Edward VII’s Hospital in London after feeling ill. Philip’s illness is not believed to be related to covid-19. Both he and the queen, 94, received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine in early January. Philip, who retired from royal duties in 2017, rarely appears in public. In 2011, he was rushed to a hospital by helicopter after feeling chest pains and was treated for a blocked coronary artery. In 2017, he spent two nights in the hospital and he was hospitalized for 10 days in 2018 for a hip replacement. Philip was last hospitalized for four days in 2019 for what the palace said was planned treatment of a pre-existing condition.

▪ Jodie Foster topped her surprise win at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards with a shout out and thanks to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during her acceptance remarks. Rodgers mentioned the two-time Oscar winning actress in his own remarks last month after being named the NFL’s MVP for the third time. After that, Foster promised Jimmy Kimmel that she was waiting to pay him back. The opportunity arrived when she won the Golden Globe for best supporting actress for her performance in “The Mauritanian.” She explained to reporters after the show what was going on between them. “I’ve decided that, not only am I a huge Packers fan, but I am MVP — I am competitive MVP with Aaron Rodgers,” she told reporters (via E online). “Yes, I’m a huge Packers fan, and, in fact, I just got a very cute video from Aaron Rodgers where he says he is going to get me back. So we’ll see who wins.” During his MVP speech, the quarterback announced he was engaged and actress Shailene Woodley later confirmed their engagement.
