Bentonville still wisely making investments
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of watching Bentonville grow into its own. I’ve seen it go from a small town, known to most as a place only to work, not to live, to where it is today — a growing city for both families and young people. A city with some of the best schools in the region. A city with parks and amenities second to none. A city with excellent police and fire departments. A city with a wonderful library. And last but certainly not least, a city that has invested wisely, while being a good steward of tax dollars.
As a growing city, it’s important that our elected officials make decisions to keep up with infrastructure and plan for the future. This is why when I go to the poll on April 13, I’ll be voting to extend the current 1 cent-sales tax that voters approved in 2003. The nine questions on the ballot will authorize the city of Bentonville to invest in areas of great need for the health and longevity of our community. These areas include street improvements, parks and recreation, drainage improvements, public safety, police and fire needs and the expansion of our wonderful library, in addition to being asked to refund bonds and authorize the extension of the existing sales tax.
I am proud to be a long-time resident of Bentonville and know that a vote for the bond extension ensures the next generation of Bentonville will have the same quality of life I’ve enjoyed for many years. I encourage you to consider and vote for all of the ballot questions.
