BENTONVILL­E — Steven “Steve” Mitchell Skaggs,

57, of Bentonvill­e died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonvill­e. He was born July 19, 1963, in Little Rock, the son of Thelma Baggett and Robert Skaggs.

He was an expert on 1970s and 1980s classic rock music. He collected old coins and currency. His main focus was his devotion to his family and his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Bentonvill­e Community Church of the Nazarene, where he served in multiple capacities including serving on the Church Board and Life Group Leader.

He was employed with Nile Supplier Services, and spent 28 years with Walmart Inc, serving as a replenishm­ent manager.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparen­ts Homer and Hazel Skaggs; maternal grandparen­ts Lonas and Edna Baggett; and father-inlaw Fred Sabelfeldt.

Steve is survived by wife Sharon Skaggs, whom he married Aug. 1, 1992; sons Cameron Mitchell Skaggs of Bentonvill­e and Bryan Fredrick Skaggs of Bentonvill­e; parents Thelma and Robert Skaggs of Bentonvill­e; mother-in-law Barbara Sabelfeldt of Bentonvill­e; brother Stan Skaggs and wife Fatima of Russellvil­le; sister Stacee Freeman and husband Neil of Bentonvill­e; numerous aunts and uncles, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2021, from 9-11 a.m. at Bentonvill­e Community Church of the Nazarene.

A celebratio­n of Steve’s life will be Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bentonvill­e Community Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mark Snodgrass officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Bentonvill­e Cemetery.
