ROGERS — Marietta Mae Sikes Moore,
89, of Rogers passed away at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale on June 19, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1932, in Fayetteville to Horace A. Sikes and Jewell Mae Wafer Sikes.
Marietta, a homemaker, was a particularly gifted gardener who greatly prized her beautiful blooms and enjoyed sharing them with loved ones. When not hard at work outside, she was most often found in the kitchen whipping up enough of her delicious food to feed an army.
Marietta’s devotion to her family was unparalleled, and few things made her happier than spending time with, and overfeeding, her grandkids and their babies. She was also highly adept at word games, never losing a Scrabble match or starting a crossword puzzle she couldn’t finish.
Marietta was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of over 55 years Howard Lee Moore Sr.; son Donald Gene Moore and wife Gloria; and sisters Helen O’Neal, Emma Simpson and Juanita Apon.
She is survived by daughter Carmen Maria Smith and husband Mick of Rogers; son Howard Lee Moore Jr. and wife Kelly of Springdale; brothers R.H. Sikes, J.D. Sikes, L.C. Sikes and Danny Sikes, all of Springdale; sister Marcia Baker of Springdale; grandchildren Andrea Logan of Rogers, Glenn Logan III (Marisela) of Clearwater, Fla., Christopher Logan of Gateway, Mo., Christopher Smith of Mission Viejo, Calif., Whitney Warren (Samuel) of Los Angeles, Calif., Alan Moore ( Brittany) of Fayetteville and Shelby Reichart (Casey) of Davenport, Iowa; great- grandchildren Gavin Collins, Zac Collins, Christian Rodriguez, Raven Logan, Harlow Logan, Sebastian Velazquez, Faith Logan, Scarlett Logan, KayLee Logan, Lily Rae Smith, Beckham Smith, Cecily Warren, Marvin Warren and Carter Lee Reichart; and great- great- grandchildren Cristy Graham, Connor Collins, Oakley Collins, Jordan Collins, Everly Collins and Norah Collins.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
