LITTLE FLOCK — Sharon Margret Clements,

73, of Little Flock, Ark., passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2021. Sharon was born in Lawrence, Kan., on April 8 , 194 8 , to the Rev. Joe and Florence (Hammond) Cox. The family moved to Haviland, Kan., in 1954, for her father to prepare for pastoral ministry. Sharon came to faith at the age of 4 years old at the church altar in the Haviland Friends Church at a camp meeting revival at the first of school. She attended the Friends Haviland Academy. After high school she earned a two- year degree from Friends Bible College, now Barclay College, an associate’s degree in accounting from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo.; and a bachelor’s degree in business management from William Woods College in Fulton, Mo. Sharon was proficient in sign language.

She married Tom Mercer in 1967. During her early career she worked at Greensburg Meat Products, Inc. She then worked at Ewing Vocational Center in Sedalia as a secretary and cook. She retired after 21 years in 2010. She married Leon Clements in 2012.

Her hobbies include scrapbooki­ng, canning and collecting Rose of Sharon (Cabbage Rose) dishes. Sharon loved the Lord Jesus. She loved God’s Word and reading it often. And, she loved her family. Sharon was a devoted and humble woman. She was a faithful member of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene.

Sharon was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. Tom Mercer in 1984, and her father, Joe Cox in 2001.

She is survived by her husband of nine years, Leon Clements of Rogers, Ark.; her mother, Florence Cox of Rogers, Ark.; brother, Phil Cox and wife Pat of Mountainbu­rg, Ark.; son, Tim Mercer of Sedalia, Mo.; daughter, Sonya Wilson and husband, Ray of Deepwater, Mo.; son, Joe Mercer of Kansas City, Mo.; and daughters, Amy Ayers and husband, DJ of Hagerstown, Md.; and, Kara Jordan and husband, Eric of Cottage Grove, Minn.; eight grandchild­ren and two great-grandchild­ren and one on the way.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021, with services beginning at 2 p.m., at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers. Graveside services will be 3 p.m ., Friday, July 2,2021, at Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Barclay College, Haviland, Kan., BarclayCol­lege. edu .
